There’s an interesting Reddit rumor, based on a source, about some of the details on the upcoming Bilt cards. As a reminder, in January-February 2026, Bilt will be releasing info and launching three new credits, one with no annual fee, one with a $95 annual fee, and one with a $495 annual fee. You can read about the officially available information in this post.
Bilt in the comments there on Reddit disassociated with the information, but I figured it worth sharing as a rumor, along with my commentary:
- Initial offerings will be competitive. The premium cards will have a SUB, and the no AF card will not. This report suggests that the bonuses on the $95 and $495 card will be strong. Interesting given that Bilt never offered much in the way of signup bonuses; with the new annual-fee card that might change.
- No AF card will have worse earning unless you have Bilt status, and “will be a heavily nerfed version of the current version”. We don’t have details yet other than what’s mentioned below (#4) that the no-fee card might (?) be dropping to just .5x on mortgage/rent instead of 1x. It’s possible that the no-fee card will also lose things like 3x Dining other benefits, but that’s entirely my speculation.
- Earnings on mortgage will be entire PITI (Principal, Interest, Tax, Insurance), as opposed to just Principal and Interest. Will be nice if this turns out true and the upcoming feature to earn points on mortgages will include the full mortgage payment, including Property Taxes and Insurance. Someone who does not pay their Property Taxes and Insurance through Escrow might not get this. Let’s wait and see.
- Points earning (on mortgage/rent?) will drop to 0.5 points per $ for no AF card. See above (#2) that the no-fee card might be losing benefits.
- Minimum transaction count for points earning to switch to minimum amount of non-rent spend. We’ll have to wait and see what the spend requirement is. Some people like putting regular spend on the Bilt card due to the value of the points, though it’s always a pain to have another thing to thing to think about each month. This will also make it harder for those who want to just meet the minimum to get points on rent/mortgage.
Lots of interesting info here in terms of a potential strong signup bonus on the premium cards, nerfing the benefits of the no-fee card, and adding a new spend requirement. These are all just rumors, we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out when the information is released on January 14, 2026 and when the card gets released on February 7, 2026.
