[Expired] Shoprite: Buy Third-Party Giftcard & Get $10 Shopping Credit

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Shoprite is offering a $10 shopping credit when you buy $50 in third-party gift cards at a Shoprite store.

It states “offer valid on select gift cards”, but the exclusions seem to indicate that all third-party gift cards are eligible. Let us know in the comments if you try others that aren’t pictured.

The Fine Print

  • Eligible dates on this promotion depend on your location, but most have it for December 20 – 26 with credit redeemable December 27 – January 2
  • Excludes Shoprite, Visa, Mastercard, American Express gift cards
  • Limit 1 per customer
  • Must use PricePlus card
  • $10 credit will print on bottom of receipt and won’t work to be used on things like tobacco, gift cards, milk, prescriptions, etc.

Our Verdict

Nice deal for Shoprite customers. Seems like this will work on any third party gift card. Shoprite has lots, such as Best Buy, eBay, Starbucks, Uber, etc. I checked recently at my local store for Amazon, but couldn’t find that.

Stack with 10% back with Amex Offer.

Airbnb worked for the $10 coupon. Also, there were no Amazon gift cards in the store.

 Chuck,

This week had the same wording and I successfully purchased a $25 Ebay + $25 Shell gc to trigger the $10 off coupon. It should work the same way for next week’s promo.

This doesn’t seem right, the flyer clearly states it is only on select gift cards, not all of them. Usually there are a few gift cards each week with the $10 back, they rotate which cards are eligible. During Black Friday weekend they open it up to any third party gift card.

20% discount is solid if they have a card you want and regularly shop there. Can easily double up with two separate Price Plus cards, but you have to redeem with two separate transactions. A little risky to ring up two separate orders with two separate price plus cards and identical coupons tied to different Price Plus cards on the same visit. A sharp cashier might question this but most wouldn’t know or care.

I bought 2 $50 GCs during the BF promo, only one of which was in the ad, and the one that wasn’t in the ad didn’t track. They brought up the promo under my profile and it showed $50 had been applied, not $100, and the manager refused to override it. It’s too YMMV, I’m just gonna stick with pictured ones from now on.

Weird, I bought 4 different cards for the BF one, 2 weren’t listed and I got the printout just fine. Several people posted reports for that one that there were some stores where the coupon wasn’t printing when it definitely should have.

Seems like Amazon has been pulling gift cards from almost all grocery stores due to fraud. Somehow these things get drained right after people purchase them, Amazon has a leak somewhere.

My stop and shop still had them as of yesterday… Shoprites around me have never carried Amazon GCs. Do you have an official source for the above comment?

My local giant eagle that I buy VGCs from, the manager said there was a few instances, one person bought $900 of amazon gift cards and was completely drained when they got home and lost the money. Giant eagles now across the state won’t sell amazon gift cards. I saw an article about it in the local paper but I can’t find it now.

It’s been a little while since I’ve been in Jersey though. I remember stop and shop always having them.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Amazon GCs at ShopRite. Definitely not in the last couple years.
