ShopRunner gives you free two day shipping at a number of different merchants. It costs $79 annually, but it has long been possible to get a free membership if you’re an American Express cardholder and recently it seems like they are giving away memberships like candy. Reader shipitkthx83 received an e-mail asking them if they wanted to join a pilot rewards program for ShopRunner. It looks like you’ll receive a star for each purchase over $50 you make and three stars = $10 gift card. The pilot program is invite only and doesn’t even seem to be live yet. It’s also not clear if you need to click through from ShopRunner (meaning you won’t be able to stack with a portal) or not. Even if you do need to click through from ShopRunner a $10 gift card for potentially $150 in spend is a lot better than some portal rates at specific merchants.
