Siri Settlement
This lawsuit alleges that confidential or private communications were allegedly obtained by Apple and/or shared with third parties as a result of an unintended Siri activation. Apple has denied any wrongdoing but has agreed to a settlement.
Who’s Eligible

How Much?
Total settlement fund is $95 million and it’s estimated you will receive $20 per eligible device.
Important Dates
- July 2, 2025: Claim, exclusion and objection deadline
- August 1, 2025: Final approval hearing
Final Thoughts
Always worth doing these if your eligible as you never know when you’ll get a larger than expected payout.
If you “Login” with a Claim ID or whatever, you don’t have to fill out info for each device; you just select the number of devices up to 5. If you don’t login and do a “New Claim” instead, that’s when you have to submit proof of purchase or device info.
Do they want the model number or model name? The latter is just a general name like iPhone 12 Pro Max.
how to do it for kids? my son has a iphone but he is a minor.
Wait so is the basis of this lawsuit that Siri records stuff all the time or only when activated?

“We have detected inconsistencies with your submission and / or interactions with the website.” Anyone else get this?
Same. Sent them an email. Not sure what the issue is. Slightly more descriptive than most website errors, but not by much.
Got this on P2. Went again in incognito mode and it had a different form that did not require serial numbers and device types, just the number of devices.
Form worked.
I submitted a help ticket, and they got back to me with “We reviewed your submission attempt and have whitelisted a future submission. Please use the link below to submit your claim and ensure that you use the same address as your original submission.”
Then my submission when through. I still had to provide the device id/model.
Where does it ask for the IMEIs, serial #s, and/or proof or purchase? I went through the form and submitted, I didn’t see that info being requested anywhere.
A payout of $20 per device seems highly unlikely given the number people filing the claims…
Definitely going to be maxed out.
$95m, minus 30% for the lawyers, and $6m in expenses. $10k for the 5 named plaintiffs.
Leaves $60.45m, and at $20/ea would be no more than 3,024,250 claims.
For comparison, Apple shipped 25 million iPhones alone to the US in just one quarter — 2025Q1. And that doesn’t include a smaller number of ipads and macs.
Agree. Gonna be like the Verizon one where expected payout was several hundred for long term subscribers and I ended up getting like $3 and was a 15 year customer.
To be fair though, there was that CLEAR settlement for any Californian who lived there from 2016 to 2024 and only 125,000 applied. I think they cross checked their info though, as I submitted a record for my dad and it was rejected. https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/27-5m-thomson-reuters-clear-privacy-class-action-settlement/
$30 mil for the lawyers?! Is that actually how much it costs to carry out a lawsuit or are they just raking in massive $$$?
I don’t know. That figure was pulled from the proposed settlement. I’m not sure how many lawyers or how many billable hours go into these. But also, how many of these class actions don’t end in a big judgement/settlement for no/little gains.
Probably correct, but I apply to any class action I may be entitled to anyway. I have been pleasantly surprised to the tune of over $300 in just the last year alone, all for the trouble of filling out a few forms. I like money!
My first submission didn’t go through on Brave browser, likely due to privacy setting. Used Chrome and submission went through no problem.
I also used brave and it took a few hours to get the confirmation email.
