Swagbuck Plus Review – $3.99 Per Month

Swagbucks has launched a paid membership plan that costs $3.99 per month called ‘Swagbucks Plus‘. The benefits of Swagbucks plus are listed as follows:

  1. Double cashback on most of your favorite stores
  2. Instant ship of gift cards up to $50 (some merchant exceptions apply)
  3. An additional 200 SB ($2) monthly survey bonus for completing 5 surveys in a month
  4. A new member sign-on bonus of 500 SB (awarded after 2 months of subscription)
  5. A VIP customer service queue for any customer service inquiries (addressed within 24 hours)

Personally this is an easy pass for me, I don’t really get any value out of any of this apart from maybe the double cash back on some stores, but I doubt that would apply to the offers that we’d normally post about anyway.

VIP lane for customer inquiries. So they’re basically telling you the all too common missing points are meant to be a feature, and not a bug in their crappy program. So much time wasted for points that rarely track correctly.
just another worthless subscription model that aims to screw the consumer.

Has anyone actually been able to purchase this or even see the checkout screen? All links I see lead me to a page with an “The page you’ve requested cannot be found” error.

I remember back in the day they had a paid program that I think was maybe called Swagbucks Accelerator where you would pay $10 a month and it would double your SB earnings for the month up to 1500 so you’d basically get $15 for paying $10 as long as you earned enough SB and that was back when it was really easy to earn. As you can imagine, the program didn’t last more than about a year.

By the way, where is this on the Swagbucks page to purchase? I don’t see it anywhere.

Same here. I wonder if it’s targeted or limited to certain states?

Sounds interesting. I’d would profit another $42 from Jan-Apr if my stores are supported so. I only do cash back and the occasional offer these days.

Just something else to forget to cancel. It is good to know that when deals don’t track…I now can pay them to take cuts in the “refusal to payout” line. Have a blessed rest of your day!!

2 x $3.99 = $7.98
500 SB bonus = $5

$7.98 – $5 = $2.98.

You’ll need to do 10 surveys in the two months to balance the cost, which is definitely doable. And it gets you 2 months of free benefits which is dedicated support line, double cash back, and instant ship of gift cards (I doubt this includes PayPal).

Going into a third month, (3x$3.99) – $5 – (3x$2) = $0.97. You would need to do $0.97 worth of double cashback on the shopping to make the third month worth it. Take the Walmart 2%, you are supposedly going to get 4% I would hope. $0.97 / 2% = $48.50.

Going into the fourth month, you’ll need to do an additional $1.99 of cash back, or $99.50 at Walmart.

I mean, it is DOABLE, just…the cash back is hit or miss. Some stores Rakuten/TCB/et. Al. offer double or more than SB, others it is the same and the double cash back would be great. You’d also have to hope that SB gives double on the stores you care about – BJ’s, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. In the absence of those, is it really worth it? I’d say that if you have a huge purchase coming up and you know that the SB double cash will absolutely be amazing, it’ll be good for one month.

For example, I know the LifeMiles Club Lifemiles is a terrible deal. $12 for 600 miles and only 10% redemption discount, with a 6 month purchase required? That is buying miles at $0.02/mile which is terrible. But, I had a huge purchase coming up to fly to Colombia in the summer and the Lifemiles redemption cost was ridiculously low and the miles redemption value was high (not to mention the cost of flying in the summer is ridiculously high). 10% off made the value over $137 in miles saved (and counting…I have some more flights to book before the 6 months are up). After the 6 months are up, I’ll be saying goodbye.

Honestly from a time perspective if they are short surveys, like 5 choice multiple it’s worth it. And the cash back part, you can just check cash back rates using Cash back alcoholic and compare. For example Retailmenot is known for giving pretty good rates, typically the highest out of all cash back sites from what I have seen, which unless Swagbucks is willing to double, which i highly doubt, then it’s not worth paying for this membership.

It would likely take many hours to complete 5 surveys. Most surveys say you’re disqualified, after already wasting your time with a bunch of questions (at least, for my demographic; maybe for other people it’s different).
