Swagbucks: Armor VPN $20 Moneymaker (iOS Only)

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Swagbucks is offering 4,000 ($40) with a $19.99 Armor VPN subscription.

Similar deal for 6,500 MyPoints.

The Fine Print

  • iOS only
  • SB will appear as Pending for 32 days.
  • Must enter valid sign-up information, including credit card information to earn SB.
  • Offer may only be redeemed once (1) per user.
  • Award will be revoked for immediate cancellations.

Our Verdict

Just be sure to cancel before the month ends so as not to be charged twice. I’m not sure what they classify as ‘immediate cancellation’, but hopefully if you keep it for a few weeks that’ll work.

Reader Shawn shared this deal and adds: There is a 3-day trial before you get charged for the monthly subscription, and the points will be pending after that. So do not worry if you receive an email notification of 0 points immediately after doing the offer.

Don’t use a VPN on Swagbucks itself since they often deactivate accounts who do so.

Took a chance and subscribed. Hope it tracks properly and awards the SB. I hate opening tickets every time and they saying they are giving the SB as a “courtesy”.

Silly question, I guess. I assume there’s no way to buy the subscription without installing the app, is there? Non iOS over here.

remember, even if you buy a VPN, never use it with swagbucks – use of a VPN will almost guarantee they will shut down your account when you try to cash out.

also, ios only – as a practical matter, this means ios 14 or higher, because apple changed their privacy options from opt-out to opt-in. many of the older apple devices can’t run 14.

Because the Armor VPN app itself does not require ios 13 or higher, I did it on an old iPhone (no privacy tracking ever asked) and had the points pending after the 3-day trial.

Yep, this happened to me. Had to contact them on Facebook to unlock the account.

I like these. A perfect use of my $25 Apple Gift card purchased for $5 after promo codes on Amazon.

Sorry if this is a bit unrelated, but since seeing a lot of iOS only offers pop up, is there a cheap device someone can recommend to purchase so us android users can snag some of these deals? I am not sure if you have to have a fairly new iOS device to support the particular app/updates/store. Thanks!

Due to Apple’s planned obsolescence, I doubt old iOS devices will be useful any more.

What other company provides software updates to 6 year old phones?

I recommend getting an iPhone 7 from Swappa or going for one of those free phone deals on Cricket or Metro PCS.

Do you think I could even go get an iPhone 6 from eBay? Locked into a plan right now unfortunately.

iPhone 6 doesn’t have the latest version of iOS. I recommend iPhone 7 or newer. Cracked iPhone 7 is $50 on eBay, non-cracked is $70 on Swappa.

Thank you very much! I see 5 years is coming up on its support so maybe I should even go one more up? Just kind of worth it with these iOS only deals, would make your money back and then some pretty quickly.

iPhone 8 is crazy expensive compared to 7. If you want something that’ll last a few years, I’d recommend the iPhone SE 2. There are commonly locked new iPhone SE 2 deals on Slickdeals for $110-$120 locked from Tracfone. (plus $15 TCB) It just came out, so it’ll get at least 4 more years of support.
