I know this is old thread; don’t know where else to post this question. I have Bof A checking and savings which I opened several years ago, and have been looking at closing. I just got an offer for a $100 bonus to make direct deposits in the existing checking. I hesitate because I assume that bonus would make me ineligible for future better bonuses. So either guaranteed $100 now or possible $300-$500 later. Looks like I’d have to do a real dd, as so few reliable alternatives are listed in the resource page here.
Any advice?

It seems BOA charge an ACH transfer fee for every online external bank transfer…… No other bank charges a fee like this.

Did you receive either of these $300, $400, or $500 in your email, or received both and you can select one? I received a $300 targeted email offer, but not sure if I should wait for a better offer.

Does the account need to stay open for a certain period of time after the bonus is received? I’d rather switch back to Navy Fed.

I got the $300 checking offer via email – with the following requirements – on 7/2/2021

(1) Enroll in this offer through a Bank of America associate or by clicking the Enroll now button in a direct communication (email or digital ad) from Bank of America.

(2) Open a new eligible Bank of America personal checking account by August 31, 2021.

(3) Set up and receive Qualifying Direct Deposits of $4,000 or more in your new personal checking account within ninety (90) days of account opening.

I opened a new Advantage Plus Banking Acct thru that email in late July 2021, and have had 4 real DD of $1,000+ each hit it since then.

However, re-reading the terms after the facts, I’m now wondering if the DD themselves needed to be $4,000+ each, in which case, what I did wouldn’t qualify?

Can anyone share some lights for me on this?
Wondering now if I should send $4,000 thru ACH from another bank to help with this…

Hi everyone, need a Lil assistance, I applied, met all requirements for direct deposits but only received 266.00 of the 350.00 targeted bonus from Bank Of America on 3/5/2021. Called in and was told that 20% taxes were taken out of the bonus and I would receive a 1099 tax form at the end of the year. Have anyone else had this done before. This is the first time doing bonuses that the tax was taken out before I received the bonus. CONFUSED

hi
did you check that you do not have any tax witholding on the application?
if you said you did that is probably why they took out the tax

Would you please share which bluebird account you use for this DD, the AMEX debit account or bluebird bank account? I probably have to open bluebird and use the same way to fulfill this DD requirement, but I see two different accounts available. https://www.bluebird.com/
Thanks!
