Targeted offer, sent out via e-mail. Subject line is ‘ Earn 10,000 Bonus Points by Using Your BBVA Compass Credit Card!’
- Earn 10,000 bonus points (a $100 value) when you link your card to the BBVA Wallet and at least $2500 in Qualifying Purchases post to your card account ending in XXXX between November 20, 2017 and January 20, 2018
- Other people have the same offer, but with a different spend requirement. I’ve seen another offer for $4,000 in spend and $5,000 and $1,500
The Fine Print
- Offer is available only to specially designated credit card account customers and is non-transferable.
- Offer valid from November 20, 2017 through January 20, 2018 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
- To qualify for the 10,000 bonus points, you must link your BBVA Compass American Express Card to the BBVA Wallet application and have net Qualifying Purchases totaling $2500 or more using that BBVA Compass American Express Card post to your account between November 20, 2017 and January 20, 2018.
- A “Qualifying Purchase” is any purchase, Internet purchase, phone or mail order purchase, bill payment, contactless purchase (purchase made by holding your BBVA Compass American Express Card or other device up to a secure reader instead of swiping your card), or small-dollar purchase for which you are not required to sign, made with your BBVA Compass American Express Card, that is processed or submitted through the American Express payment stream.
- Payments of existing card balances, balance transfers, cash advances, ATM transactions, convenience checks, Interlink processed transactions, fees charged by us (for example, finance charges, and related service charges, if any apply), payments made for prepaid and reloadable cards such as certain gift cards, purchases of quasi cash (for example, casino chips), and payments made for payment instruments that can readily be converted to cash (for example, travelers cheques, money orders, wire transfers, and similar products or services) are not Qualifying Purchases for purposes of this offer.
- Offer limited to 10,000 bonus points per account.
- The 10,000 bonus points will be applied to your account 10-12 weeks after the end of the promotion period.
- Your account must remain open and in good standing to receive the bonus.
- This offer may not apply if your card has changed to a different type of card within the last 12 weeks or changes before the 10,000 bonus points are applied. BBVA Compass may terminate this offer at any time without notice.

Our Verdict
BBVA have been sending out more and more of these types of targeted offers, good to see considering the card no longer earns 5x during the NBA Finals and All Star weekend.
