Can you make payments in-store at Best Buy?
I got a different offer: 10% back in points for a single purchase at Best Buy. This card has been pumping out offers like these nonstop for at least two years.
I got 10% in rewards certificate up to 50. That seems to be different from the rewards points in this deal.
Any easy way to redeem these BBY reward certificates for smaller amounts?
This card is constantly getting solid offers for me. So many times I am able to put a good amount of spend on it and get a free item from best buy. Combining this with the new AMEX platinum offer, I might be able to get something pretty decent this time.
Can u accumulate these points? Or the rewards is issued with the fixed expiration date?
Read up on this today. Have to be Elite Status by spending $1,500 in a calendar year at Best Buy or on the card anywhere. You can then set your preferences to bank reward points instead of reward certificates being automatically generated.
Thinking of dropping $1,500 on the card to get the status since auto-generated reward certificates are a pain and rather useless (I never know what to spend it on before they expire). Really turned me off to the card just after getting it.
Points banking applies to the regular points. But I am not sure if you can bank these special promotions rewards certificate. Anyone knows?
No . these promo certs can not be banked. They have fixed expiry.
Thanks. Then these offers are much less attractive.
No. For this promo, you would get points, and depend on your BB status, you can choose to bank those points.
There are certain promos (generally spend offers) , which give certificates and those once earned have a fixed expiry. Hope this clarifies.
This deal is rewarded as points, not a certificate. Points don’t expire, however if you are not Elite or Elite Plus, you don’t have the ability to point bank. Meaning the second you get the points from this promo rewarded to you, it’ll immediately be converted into a rewards certificate. The rewards certificates generally have an expiration date of a month or so. According to Best Buy FAQ’s, if you make a purchase using a points-based rewards certificate and then return the item, those points will be refunded to you within 3-6 business days. Promo certificates (such as those offered for deals like “spend $300 outside of best buy and get a $30 certificate”) are not returned to you if you refund a purchase.
Generally programs like these will credit you the points after the program is over, on the final day of the promo. So last year they ran the same exact 10% promo, same months. On my statement dates, I was credited 1 pt per dollar spent. On March 31 I was credited the full 10% points. So if you aren’t elite and you spend $750 over the course of the program, you’ll get that $75 points drop on March 31.
You can also get status by buying things at best buy. Personally I usually just buy gift cards there
They run promos all the time like spend $300 outside Best Buy and get $30 GC. I agree that they’re a pain to spend most of the time before expiry but it helps to meet the $1500 spend easily every year and they have started to have good quarterly categories for statement rewards.
Got the same bonus last year. Getting closer to a new OLED TV by black friday 2021…
