The Offer
Check your email for the following spend offer on the Chase Freedom Flex card, valid from September 1, 2025 through November 30, 2025:
- Spend $1,000 earning the regular earn rates, and then your next $2,500 in spend will earn an extra .5% rewards on top of the regular reward rates.
- Spend $4,000 earning the regular earn rates, and then your next $2,500 in spend will earn an extra 1% rewards on top of the regular reward rates.
- Others got a lower offer of .25% and .5% instead of .5% and 1%.
Our Verdict
This is a single promo period for September, October, and November, it’s not a monthly promo. The offer mostly makes sense for someone who is anyway putting spend on the card, and can then max out the bonus rate for an extra 2,500 points.
Hat tip to readers amit and KR
The email sounded like I will get 1% extra only after I spend $1000 and after that it is 1% extra up to $4k spend. if thats true. its a useless offer for me
mine is only half of these.
Spend $1,000, get extra 0.25% for the next $2,500.
Spend $4,000, get extra 0.5% for the next $2,500.
I also wonder what happens if I make a single transaction of $6,500
Not an attractive offer.
It would be if you start getting the extra 0.5% from $0 .
So, if you buy $1500 to max out Q4 category, you get an extra $500 x 0.5% = $2.50
Yes it sounds like a trick to get people to use their Freedom cards beyond the 5x categories. I suppose it would be nice if you have a lot of restaurant/pharmacy spend.
Probably not taking advantage of this but the wording is weird. So theoretically:
Spend $1000
Spend $2500 with elevated 0.5%
Spend $500
Spend $2500 with elevated 1.0%
So that means you can net an extra 3750 points if you max the promo out?
This offer straddles Q3 and Q4 so the math isn’t so simple if you are wanting to maximize the 5% categories other than Chase Travel.
No email for me unfortunately
If my math is correct, to max out the offer you’re spending $3500 for a $12.50 bonus or $6500 for a $25 bonus. Why would anyone do this unless their only card is a CFF?
