William Charles I received an email offering “10% back as a statement credit, up to $25, through 04/30/2020 on purchases¹ you make online” specifically for my Citi Dividend card.

The only excluding language is “Balance transfers, cash advances, checks that access your Card Account, items returned for credit, unauthorized charges, interest and account fees, traveler’s checks, foreign currency purchases, money orders, wire transfers (and similar cash-like transactions), lottery tickets, gaming chips (and similar betting transactions), Citi Flex Loans and the creation of Citi Flex Pays, are not purchases.”

There is also a caveat that “purchases made through mobile/wireless technology may not earn additional rewards depending on how the technology is set up.”

Anybody know if this should work for paying federal income taxes?

i just got an offer for 5x points on online purchases. No exclusions other than supermarkets and gas stations that get double points (this is the Rewards+ card).

Will it work on insurance payments that BofA excludes from their online card? I guess I can make a test $1 payment and see what I get.

Also, can someone confirm what Bret said previously? i.e is it:

4x on $625 = 2500 points extra (and 3125 points total) or,
5x on $500 = 2500 points total

Not going to use my Citi credit card until they give the $20 that they promised me for spending $125+ on Paypal with linked Citi cc.
The fine print says that the reward would appear 2 statements after the purchases post.
The purchased posted on my September 16 statement.
NO reward on Oct statement.
NO reward on Nov statement
Waiting to see what happens with the Dec statement.

So far they have lied.

Not seen a credit card company so slow to give rewards promised.

Anyone have a good suggestion as to where to spend category “online”?

I thought citi would categorize plastiq as that, but weirdly enough, they categorize based on the category plastiq actually pays out to on the charge.
