[Targeted Email] Bank of America: Product Change With No Credit Pull & Get $200 Bonus

The Offer

Bank of America is sending many people an email offer:

No application or credit check necessary.

Our Verdict

A lot of people have a number of these 3/2/1 cards sitting around – assuming you aren’t using them this is one of the easiest $200 you can make. Well worth considering even if you do use the card some.

We wrote about the new Unlimited Cash Rewards card in a separate post; just wanted to highlight this signup offer separately so people don’t miss it.

Got the invite by email and authorized that. But then got it in the mail as well. Seems they just crossed each other…

I received this offer in the mail today. I never noticed an email offer come through.
I’m only one data point, but yeah, looks like some mailers have been sent.

I received the same mailer today.

Took the bait. Do you have to actually wait the 3-4 weeks until you get the new card to start this…I mean I have spending to tend to.

In the body of my email the language of the spending requirement is 1k “within the first 90 days of receiving your new card.” The fine print below then states “use your new credit card account” to make 1k in purchases. Seems like we will need to wait for the new card.

With other banks upgrade offer, transactions made on the old card count also( not just on the new one). I feel it should be the case with this since the account number is same

Did the one click switch. Next steps are to wait 3-4 weeks for “new card to arrive and to be enrolled.” Seems like a long time.

I think I opted out of marketing emails a long time ago because I never get offers from BOA. Anyone know how to opt back in?

Update: I found a link on the BOA site to opt back in to promotional emails. Posting here in case anyone else is interested: https://preferences.em.bankofamerica.com/prefs/unsubrev/unsubrev

Haven’t received the offer yet but the online shopping category (4.5% cashback with platinum) is hard to let go…. but then a $200 bonus without a credit pull…. mmm.. difficult decisions

Long time lurker, first time poster. I received this offer but it was for my Travel Rewards Visa and not my 3-2-1 Visa. The fine print at the bottom of the email says, “The rewards balance on your account will convert from Points to Cash Rewards at a value of 1% of the number of Points at the time of conversion.” Hope this helps.

Seems like a fair deal. IIRC, you had to redeem for travel or gift cards to get that value, otherwise it was reduced for cash redemptions. Getting the 1% as cash looks like a win-win.

I have a very large credit line on my existing BOA card, will that carry over with the product change?
