Our Verdict
Looks like you have until the end of next year to use the credit, so you should be able to use it for your next renewal as well.
Ugh, I have two of their cards and never seem to get these offers. Ok, ok, they have given me 0% APR for 12 months with no fees, twice, but I want every offer! Muh ah ah ah ah ah.
Wife’s dad was in the Navy which makes her eligible for NFCU membership, once she’s a member am I eligible for membership?
Yes. You can sponsor someone you live with. So she would be your sponsor for membership.
Awesome, thanks
which cards and types of relationships are receiving this offer?
Sorry to butt in. I just received an email yesterday from NCFU telling me who I could invite. Here’s what they say:
Thanks to you, your loved ones are eligible
to join Navy Federal Credit Union.
• Your spouse
• Your parents
• Your kids
(including adopted and stepkids)
• Your grandparents
• Your siblings
• Your household members
Very happy ones? I imagine people who have sizable accounts, spending lots of dough, or have CD/IRA holdings.
Myself and SO… nothing. Both of us have been members for 20+ years each.
0/2 players here as well.

got it on 1/2 accounts
Hi – anyway you can sponsor me for an account??
Yeah – move in with them or marry them
According to NFCU email I can invite all of the following and I am not a primary member, I joined via my dead grandfather’s service in WW2.

0/2 players.
Obligatory comment that NFCU has limited membership to save others the trouble.
Obligatory response that it isn’t all that difficult to qualify. I got in based on my brother having served fifty years ago. Grandfather served in the Army WWII? You’re in. Grandson in the Air National Guard? You’re in. Etc.
Still waiting on approval but I applied over the phone last night (for a different reason than this post) and all they asked was relation (grandfather) and branch (Army). They said they’d reach out if they need anything else, but based on other DPs I’ve seen, they typically don’t. They have a list of documents they require for proof, which I can’t produce (he died 25 years ago), but for a previous CU with the same eligibility requirements they did ask for proof but ended up accepting an internet archived newspaper obituary mentioning his service.
EDIT: Just approved
