Our Verdict
Nice offer, seems like they have learned to exclude the gift card places.
Hat tip to reader Xatos
Is this valid only through portal purchases or the spend is anywhere including in store?
I think this card is starting to become almost as lucrative as the Sears and BBVA cards, for me anyway. All three have been running pretty regular monthly promos. Already did the spend, now to see how fast the bonus posts.
Email subject is “ Hi [name]! Get an extra $50 just for shopping with your Rakuten Credit Card.” The offer seems to vary; mine is for a $50 statement credit after spending $750. Would much rather have the credit as Membership Rewards but still not a bad offer.
Wanted to apply for this card for its price protection benefit that’s still mentioned here https://shp.csharmony.epsilon.com/pages/Synchrony-Retail_Card-Ebates/33162_RF21267_17_EBS_Visa_GTB_LP/ but according to at least a couple users on reddit the card no longer provides the benefit, anyone with the card has any idea?
There are 3 varieties of the card: a Visa and two Visa Signature cards with two APRs. I have the lower APR version of the Visa Signature version and it has price protection along with purchase protection, extended warranty, and primary CDW.
Thanks for the reply, just wondering if you have filed a price protection claim recently. I tried calling the number provided in that guide of benefits and also Rakuten visa CC support but both agents who took my call had no idea and eventually I got tired of being bounced back and forth between different departments. Also according to the link I posted even the platinum VISA version of the card comes with the same benefits
“Excludes giftcardmall, giftcard.com, and Raise”.
This is so futile of them….lmao
I got a$25/250 offer, not $50
I received an offer for $25 cash back for spending $250, some cardholders might be receiving this one as well.
