I generally hold the reputation of DoC in high reward, but the fact that you continue to promote TopCashBack with no caveats, despite all the negative reviews and comments it receives (including on DoC) brings that in question. (If you need another negative review, just let me know and I’ll be happy to give mine.)

Listen to your readers. If you’re under some contract that prevents you from saying anything negative about TopCashBack (which itself is concerning), at least direct readers to the comments so they can be properly warned.

Hello There,

TopCashback is 100% reliable and reputable. I’m sorry if you’ve had a negative experience, however we have tons of members receiving cashback on a daily basis. I would love to take a look into your account and see how we can turn the experience around for you. Please send me an email at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you 🙂

Thank you

Like I’ve said countless times, we don’t receive anything from topcashback to ‘promote’ them. I’ve never had an issue with TCB myself and we never censor comments from people that say something negative. If you look at basically any portal post (e.g Swagbucks) there are people complaining about tracking.

Hello There,

Just to add to this- Issues with tracking almost always have a very easy solution. This is why we encourage our members to always clear their cookies on their browser before and make sure no ad or pop up blocker is enabled. Also, a lot of people click out of the browser and start over again which can also affect the tracking. If the necessary steps are followed, we rarely encounter any issues. Millions of members are receiving cashback daily, it’s all about being diligent about reading terms & conditions and making sure nothing is interfering with tracking.

Thank you! 🙂

Is there a consistent pattern to the cashback not tracking with TCB? Is it mostly raise? GCM? or is it everything like even a computer purchase at Apple or Dell?

not interested in using them, but just curious if there are known pain points with TCB. I do think they are consciously denying legit T&C compliant cashback but just curious as to what pockets its happening in

I’ve earned $1,100 in cashback through TCB but have stopped using them. For me, ~90% of transactions posted correctly. Another 5% I submitted a claim and got the eventually. The other 5% (mostly Raise but also others) were declined. The problem is for those 10%, the time to chase down the cashback/argue with them/sometimes get denied is simply not worth it. Rakuten always resolves things ASAP and you can get Amex MR now.

Same here. I always compare rakuten and tcb. If rakuten offers 1-3% less, I always go with rakuten because they are much more reliable and solve the issue quickly

Befrugal and Mr. Rebates are also reliable and offer better rates than Rakuten.

Thanks for all the responses (even if I’m just commenting under one of them). That provides some helpful color. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how quick ebates helps with trouble tickets, but I’ve still got some outstanding transactions from November time frame that are still under investigation.

aubergine For me, the consistent issue on TCB is Raise. I’ve had multiple Raise purchases not track. I’ve never had any other merchant not track on TCB. Every Raise transaction that did not track was paid eventually after submitting a ticket, but it took months. I am close to the $5,000 lifetime limit now, so I guess the problem will solve itself shortly as I transition to Mr. Rebates for Raise.

Happens to most “pockets” who describe themselves as ‘not interested in using TCB’ but are just ‘curious’. Yet at the end of the day ‘tried it anyway because of the seemingly high % advertised’ and got denied thus received a negative (due to time wasted thinking about, using and fighting with TCB) % of cashback as the result.

Feel free to give it a try if you think you are luckier than most of the readers here (surprise, most readers think they are luckier than most of the readers) and let us know how it goes for you 😉

I wonder if Topcashback has financial problems. I requested a payout and it never arrived. First I didn’t notice it missing because they never informed me that there was an issue. They then requested more and more information, and finally paid out. But boy what a pain. With all the issues of not tracking, payout taking forever, cashback getting denied, and payouts withheld, it’s not worth it..

What’s their business model anyway? Selling user data? Living off the “denied” cashback or withheld payouts? Topcashback won’t say.

Hello There,

I’m sorry you’ve had a negative experience. TopCashback is the only site to date that doesn’t profit from member purchases at all. We rely solely on the merchants to release the funds to pass onto our members. Given all the terms and conditions are followed as laid out by each merchant, cashback is released to us and passed onto the member. A lot of times there is a term of condition that was broken or overlooked resulting in a delay in payout. Please email me at [email protected], and I will be be glad to look into your account for you and try to resolve any issues.

Thank you

I have used TCB on multiple occasions and they’ve never paid out, even after months of “investigations” and providing all evidence and proof. I guess they’re able to provide high promotions like this when they only pay out 10% of the time.

Same old same old. More promotions of TCB despite all the negative comments. Up to the readers to warn the readers.
Doesn’t matter that some people claim no issues with TCB. These posts draw more negative comments than any other.

Maybe because it’s a small, vocal minority that have issues. I know for me personally, I’ve received a ton of cash back from TCB. I have had a few issues with things not tracking, but so far I’ve been successful getting those resolved with a support ticket.

Mike, most people refrain from leaving negative comments because of backlash. There’s a lot more negativity not posted. It’s not a small vocal minority. It’s a lot of negative comments as compared to posts on any other company. Look at it totality and get the picture.
My objective is to give readers the warning they don’t get in the post. I’m thankful Chuck allows me to do it without removing my posts.
That’s what the comments section is for. To give readers the benefit if their experiences and mine have been terrible with TCB for the high filler items.

I used to think it was just haters complaining about TCB until it started happening to me too. They refused to pay me cashback for legitimate purchases (totalling hundreds of $$)

Hmm, I have had very little problems with TCB. My spouse as well. At around $800 CB and only a couple issues with payout posting times, which were resolved pretty easily. YMMV I guess.

I’ve stopped using topcashback alltogether and only use rakuten because they’re reliable. Topcashback has never paid me out and I have $50 that supposedly is pending for over a year now. Customer service said that the charges got denied by the retailers.

Nick

Exact same experience here.

More than $100 ‘pending’ for over a year now, not going to waste time on them anymore.

TCB can keep advertising their ‘cashback’ but me and many will never touch them again as the ‘cashback’, no matter how high, will never actually payout.
