I had to hop in here because I travel a ton for work and primarily stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels. I probably spend at least a third of the year in an IHG property. I use TopCashBack to get rewards on my stays *All the time* and am very happy with the experience. Once in a while I’ll have to submit a support ticket, but it gets sorted out. And usually things just go smoothly. It’s been probably over a thousand dollars in cashback I’ve had through them in the last 4-5 years. I use Safari on a MacBook if that makes any difference.

Given all the negative feedback about TCB. I’m here to give the complete opposite. I’ve never had a problem getting my cash back with TCB and I have over 50 transactions the past 2+ years. I’ve had issues with eBay transactions not being tracked but every time I submit a claim it’s been traced and I get my cash back after 3-4 months or sooner.

A good tip to ensure your transactions are tracked would be installing their Google chrome extension.

Topcashback is well known for being a “ponzi” cashback merchant. The reason why they can offer to pay higher rates than anyone else is because many people end up with denied claims / 0% to make up for it.

TCB pockets the cashback it receives from merchants to pay itself and only pays a certain percentage of shoppers that use their portal.

Sometimes you can get your cashback if you raise enough of a fuss, but if the claim is large enough, they will just tell you to pound sand.

I’d rather go with a legitimate cashback merchant like Rakuten and get back a bit less, than reward shady operations like Topcashback. In fact, there are so many complaints about TCB, that they literally have someone on staff that comes to Doc’s message board and pretends to help people with their claims.

Dominique, the fact that you are on here so often that you need to help so many people speaks volumes. There are so many negative data points for TCB you must see there is an issue here. No other company rep comes on DOC to try to fix so many issues.
My experience with TCB is you pay the small stuff but not the big stuff. Something like this one with 12% CB at IHG? Forget about it! It won’t get paid.
I have many data points experience. I gave up on you guys. I’ll take the smaller but surer pay out. The turtle wins this race.

What’s the point of going over receipts? Even if everything is done correctly, you guys will just claim that the “merchant rejected the claim” and there’s nothing that you can do.

Have you ever looked at a legitimate receipt and decided to credit someone their cash back? I doubt it.

I get tons of denied cashbacks from TCB, especially everytime I order from Canon. TCB always sides with the vendor. Shame, shame, shame!

Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but I’ve had great experiences with TCB tracking and when it doesn’t I can get help and they usually (90%+) payout.

Swagbucks almost never tracks on the other hand. They do eventually pay (maybe 50% of the time), but it’s painful to talk to their support.

Cashback was denied for my last 2 purchases (both in 2021), although I specifically made sure to follow the recommendations.

YMMV but I’ve had success with TCB. I use a separate browser that has no external plugins or ad blockers and so far, have not had any issues. I use another browser for everything else.

I would advise against using Topcashback for all transactions. They are running a shady operation, read bait and switch. On several occasions now they advertised a higher cashback except when it actually posted, it was tracked at a much lower amount. On filing a claim, they took about 4 months to respond saying that it was declined by the merchant. Reason they offer – “Transaction cannot be traced”.
I sent them a screenshot of the higher cashback offer they were running on the portal to which they say – they cannot prove that this sale has been the result of a TCP referral.
Really you crooks? If that is the case, how did TCP post cashback at a lower amount for the same transaction?

Will use never TCB again, I’ll take lower rates at another portal. I’ve had atleast 3 things I had to fight tooth and nail to get credited, just not worth the effort.

Honestly, I would never trust TCB esp. with those standard T&C. You’ll wait a very long time and likely never receive the payout. You can send a secure message to their customer service, you will get a response in a reasonable amount of time. You may end up with the credit but it will take forever. I rather go the sure Rakuten route. I would shy away from SB too, they are almost as bad as TCB.

Dominique, you have no clue what goes on with TCB. As you can see by the comments there are an abundance of problems with your company. Especially with offers like these. These never pay out. I wish this site would stop promoting this crappy company.
