The Offer

- $75 when you open a new checking account with a direct deposit
- $25 when you open a new health savings account, minimum opening deposit of $50
- $10 when you enroll in eStatements
- Existing customers can get the $10 eStatement bonus and can also get $25 for switching their direct deposit to Trustco Bank
The Fine Print
- Direct deposits must be the entire amount from a recurring Payroll, Social Security, and/or Pension (minimum of $100 monthly Direct Deposit). Direct Deposit must be completed within 60 calendar days from account opening
- Please allow at least four weeks for verification of each promotional offer before seeing any credits in your account.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
There are no monthly fees on the checking or health savings account, we are not sure if they have an early account termination fee or not.
Our Verdict
I don’t really think this bonus is worth the effort, you need to open in branch and deposit your full paycheck to qualify for $75 of the bonus (not sure if an ACH transfer will work or not). There are much easier bonuses to get, so why not just go for one of those instead? In saying that, if you do decide to sign up then share your experiences in the comments below.
