U.S. Suspends Entry Of Foreign Nationals Who Have Been In Europe During 14 Days Prior To Scheduled Arrival

According to a statement released by DHS, President Donald Trump has signed a Presidential Proclamation, which suspends the entry of most foreign nationals who have been in certain European countries at any point during the 14 days prior to their scheduled arrival to the United States. President Donald Trump had previously announced that the U.S. would be banning all travel from Europe for 30 days starting this Friday.

This is a developing situation and we will update the post as more information comes to light.

People can easily transit through LHR, intra-Euro flight is dirty cheap like 20 to 50 Euro.

So flights from non-Schengen European countries (e.g. Turkey) will continue as usual? My folks have a mid April flight transiting through Istanbul on Turkish airlines.

Let’s not forget what brings us here – churning and exploiting legal loopholes in the banking system. So let’s focus on that rather than talking about politics and sowing animosity between us.

If you are going to have a travel ban, it makes no sense to not include the U.K. as they have been very lax on the screening of people traveling in from the Schengen areas.

I assume there will be civil discourse, after which we will all agree?

This is an imperfect measure and coming about 10 days too late… however it goes someway towards slowing the spread and slowing down the wave of infections that are going to be hitting our hospitals around the country.

The government blew about 8 solid weeks of possible preparation.. both with building up the essential medical stockpiles of masks etc and building up testing resources. It is an abject failure of the government to not have immediate, widely available and free testing by now. This is ESSENTIAL to quantify the problem, plan further, isolate the more affected communities and quarantine the infected individuals. That is the ONLY we will really get a grip on the situation. Otherwise a lot of very serious disease modeling puts our hospitals completely overwhelmed in 4-6 weeks time… If that happens… not only will people die from Covid19 but many people will die from all other kinds of illness and injury without question due to the lack of ICU beds. TESTING is whats most essential right now… not talking about it from the podium but making it happen.

Not cancelling my trip unless all flights ceases (even then, road trip!). People can keep making excuses for themselves to put their lives on hold. Not me though. Here for a good time, not a long time. Pretending like the virus would cease to exist if everyone just bunker in their house for weeks is the most out of touch and unrealistic thing of this whole event, lmao.

BUT… if everyone did bunker in their houses for weeks… the virus would effectively cease to exist. Everybody won’t do that, of course (as your reply clearly demonstrates). But if everybody DID do that, it would absolutely work to eliminate the virus.

The survivability of a virus outside of a host is limited. Coronaviruses, in particular, don’t fare well outside of a host.

Yep. That’s how China did it. It won’t happen here thus it will go around for a long time.

Or maybe you and everyone who’s scared or vulnerable should stay home the rest of your lives. The rest of us will do just fine. We know the risk of walking outside and driving a car and the millions of other ways we can end up dying. And we accepted that risk. And it’s not up to you to decide that. Where do you think your food and utilities and other commodities are going to come from? Air? What a farce. There’d be more elderly dying from no nurse to take care of them at foster homes. Everyone stay home, lol, nice joke.

This isn’t just about you and having a good time. You may catch the virus and be unaffected by it, but you may also transmit it to your family and friends and cause a chain reaction that ends up killing others. I’m young and healthy and don’t fear catching the virus either, but I worry for others.

How I live my life is my business and about me. You don’t see me trying to tell you how to live as a Nazi. Keep your scare tactics and propaganda to yourself. I’m not responsible for you and everyone else.

Funny thing how the “unreliable media” was spreading fear and panic, but now it’s an applauded move.
