For some time, Uber and SPG have been partners to give bonus SPG points for your Uber rides. They’ve now lowered the amount of points earned per dollar.
Previously, the earn-rate was 1 SPG point per $1 spent anytime and 2-4 points per $1 when staying at an SPG hotel.
The new, lower rate will be 1 point per $2 spent anytime and a flat 2 points per $1 spent when staying at an SPG hotel. This change will take effect on February 1, 2017.
- Anytime: Old Rate – 1 point per $1; New Rate – 1 point per $2
- SPG Stay: Old Rate – 2-4 points per $1; New Rate 2 points per $1
As before, you can only earn points on up to $10,000 in Uber spend per calendar year.
