Barclays Increases Wyndham Credit Card Bonuses – Up To 75,000 Points & Require Wyndham Spend

• Barclays is offering increased bonuses on the two personal Wyndham cards of up to 75,000 points. The offers are as follows:
  • Earner Rewards: 
    • Earn 30,000 points after $1,000 in spend within the first 90 days
    • Earn 30,000 points after spending $500 at Hotels by Wyndham in the first 180 days 
  • Earner+ Rewards: Earn up to 75,000 bonus points
    • Earn 45,000 points after $1,000 in spend within the first 90 days
    • Earn 30,000 points after spending $500 at Hotels by Wyndham in the first 180 days

• Earner Rewards:
  • No annual fee
  • Card earns
    • 5x points at Wyndham properties and on qualifying gas purchases
    • 2x points on eligible dining and grocery purchases
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • Automatic Wyndham gold status
  • 10% discount on go free awards
  • Anniversary bonus of 7,500 points after you spend $15,000 on eligible purchases
• Earner+ Rewards:
  • Annual fee of $75, not waived first year
  • Card earns
    • 6x points at Wyndham properties and on qualifying gas purchases
    • 4x points on eligible dining and grocery purchases
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • Automatic Wyndham platinum status
  • 10% discount on go free awards
  • Anniversary bonus of 7,500 points

Our Verdict

Not a very attractive offer given we saw up to 90,000 points last year without the Wyndham spend requirement. I’m surprised more brands don’t require spend with them to trigger the sign up bonus, but I guess they don’t perform as well and the programs are profitable enough without trying to drive additional spend. We won’t add this to our best credit card bonuses.
