X1 has sent out two e-mails to existing cardholders informing them of negative changes to the card:
E-mail one:
Good news! Because you’re an X1 Cardholder, you’ve made it to the front of the line to apply for the Robinhood Gold Card. There are 3 million people on the waitlist, and you’re off of it. The Robinhood Gold Card offers 3% cash back on all categories, plus 5% cash back on travel.
We’re also updating the X1 Rewards Program rules, starting on Nov 21, 2025. Here’s what’s changing:

-
- Rewards will now be earned at a rate of 1.5 points per dollar spent.
- Boosts will be eliminated. You can still redeem existing boosts.
E-mail two:
- We’re adding late fees for cardholders who pay past their due date of up to $40.
- We’re changing the cash advance fee to be 5% of the transaction or $10, whichever is greater.
- We’re changing the returned payment fee to be up to $40.
- We’re changing the replacement card fee to be up to $40.
Previously the card earned 2x-4x. Seems like they basically want to kill off the card and transition cardholders over to Robinhood gold.
