Our Verdict
SPG card normally earns 2x points on SPG/Marriott purchases and 1x points on all other purchases. If you spend $5,000 exactly this is basically an additional 1x point per $1 spent. Given how valuable SPG points are, I’d definitely be happy getting 2x points per $1 spent.
It seems to be targeted to those with the annual fee becoming due soon, that makes it less of a good deal unless you planned on keeping the card anyway.
