The Offer
- Ibotta is doing some Christmas in July specials. One is a bonus of $1 or $5 when you purchase any Amazon instant video. You can use digital no rush credits for this and videos start at $0.99
Our Verdict
Not a huge bonus but if you have no rush credits then it’s basically a free $1 or $5. Probably only worth doing if you have the $5 offer, but every bit counts I guess.
If you’re new to Ibotta, appreciate if you use my Ibotta referral link or Chuck’s Ibotta referral link. You get a $10 signup bonus for signing up to Ibotta.
My mom’s account was targeted for $5 and mine was for $1… they have unique categories you don’t find with other portals… pet purchases and dash buttons are an example. If you can’t find a portal for your purchase… don’t forget to use Doc’s link… John 3:16
Got the $5 showing. Anyone have recs for the $0.99 movies? The best available movie of the ones I’ve already seen, was The Shining. Most likely going to rent Terminator 2, but there’s a lot of movies I’ve never heard of.
I went with The Shining — didn’t watch it yet, but seemed the most likely one that I may re-watch, also didn’t want to spend too much time for a $5 profit (i used no-rush rewards to pay for the movie).
All work and no play makes Rene a dull umm “?”
Dumb question, but how are you renting the movies? I have the $5 offer and Ibotta’s app Link takes me to my Amazon app. I can’t rent movies in that app (seems to be only through the Prime Video app?) or Watch Now for stuff that’s included with Prime.
My “Christmas in July” bonus is $1 on any mobile shopping purchase, excluding itunes, amazon trials, and uber. Is this the correct bonus?
Yes.
Mine is 5%, not worth it.
I was targeted for a $5 bonus when buying anything online through their app portal. I went to ebay and bought a 75 cent USB cable and got $5 for doing so.
I know this trick worked before, but I think Ibotta has closed that loophole, because Amazon Prime Video is not among the eligible CB categories for Ibotta Mobile Shopping, so I doubt it would trigger.
Worked for me. I rented a movie for $.99 using the no rush rewards and got $ 5.05 cash back.
I don’t have either bonus available in my account or in my spouse’s. Bummer. Glad for those that got it though.
