Just signup with a different email address. PPDG purchases ALWAYS kept erroring out on me, so I just created a new account with a different email and I don’t have any issues now.
This worked for me as well. Differnet e-mail with same name and address. You just have to link a different card number. You can just add an AU to your ink acct and use that number. DONT provise your SSN. You can buy stuff, but you will not be able to receive cash.
What is the differnece between credit balance and gift card balance? I just bought, and got applied to Uber credits. All the uber cards i buy from resellers post to uber gift card balance. I want to buy more, just wondering if their is nay difference.
Also – I disagree with Tony – I have used every ride pass option and they keep diminishing the value but in NYC they are significantly cheaper than Lyft and Juno. I think the ride pass/ flat fare is what is making regular pricing going up. I am getting longer wait times to get a car and more than 50% of the time I have to wait for the driver to complete a trip before picking me up.. I am guessing the ride pass is ahuge success.
It did this for me too. From what I’ve read, they pre-auth your credit card for the ride amount, then take off your GC balance and the pre-auth should fall off your card if your GC has enough to cover the ride.

Has anyone else noticed that Uber has ceded a lot of its pricing leadership to Lyft? In my market Lyft is now 35% cheaper most of the time. Gift card would have to be VERY discounted
That’s what I experience in NYC. even with 40% off rider pass, Lyft often is a cheaper option. Not good.
It’s because of the upfront pricing they started. Essentially it’s a way for them to collect more from the rider without passing the increase on to the driver.
