The Offer
SVM Gift cards are offering $100 Chevron Gift Cards on Ebay for $90.
You will earn 2% via Ebay Bucks and 1.2% if purchasing via TopCashBack portal.
The Fine Print
- Limit of 3
- Earn 2% via Ebay Bucks
- Earn 1.2% via TopCashback portal (highest portal*)
- If you have the Ebates Credit card you can earn 4% Cashback via their portal if paid with their credit card since they now payout for gift cards on Ebay again (otherwise it is only 1% Cashback).
Hopefully you were able to pick up some discounted Ebay gift cards you can redeem to help further reduce the cost.
Right now the best place to sell is Abc Gift Cards at 90.3% – rates can be lowered at anytime
The next best exchanges to sell to are between 87.3-88%Â (GiftCardZen, CardCash)
This would be a breakeven deal at best for sellling to most of these exchanges.
Our Verdict
I think this is just an okay deal since there is no Ebay Bucks promotion right now. My hope is we get a promotion in the next few days (possibly Sunday), according to Chuck’s schedule and this would be a good moneymaking opportunity. This deal may not last till then but at this rate it isn’t a worthwhile opportunity for me.
Thinking Outside the Box
One possible way to make this a moneymaker would be if you listed it via Raise.com if they still have their $10 promotion for listing when the gift cards arrive, which could take about a week. You would need to pay $1 shipping and 15% commision which would mean you are starting at a 84% sell rate before the discount you would list it at. There are currently no Chevron cards listed on Raise, so they may be a slow seller. If you follow my tips and list through the TopCashBack portal you would be able to make a little bit (if selling at a discount of up to 4% to breakeven) and have $270 spend on your credit card. I gave this idea simply as a way to show how thinking outside the box can help turn a breakeven or losing deal into a possible moneymaking opporuntity with a little bit of effort. This method is not for everyone.
