$20USD In Bitcoins For Free

Bitcoin is an alternative to fiat currency and the most widely known and accepted cryptocurrency. I’m not a wide believer in cryptocurrency becoming the monetary standard for a variety of reasons, that said I do think it has a place and I also like free currency no matter the type. Below we’ve listed two Bitcoin wallets that are currently offering $10USD for free when you sign up for an account, there are strings attached so becareful.

Circle Wallet

  • You need to wait to be invited, the wait time seems to be around six months now. I enrolled ~6 months ago and only recently received my invitation
  • Limit of one per individual
  • Must be over the age of 18
  • Full T&C here

DigitalX Pocket

Direct link to offer

  • This offer is only available to the first 5,000 people that sign up. It’s entirely possible and quite likely that they’ve already reached that 5,000 number.
  • You must pre-enroll before 31st October, 2014
  • You must confirm your identity (which goes against one of the main advantages to cryptocurrency)

Our Verdict

This isn’t a situation where you can just sign up and instantly receive $20USD in Bitcoins, that said I still think it’s worth doing especially if you have any vague interest in cryptocurrency and want to get your feet wet slowly. Circle is going to be your best bet, but expect a longer wait time. DigitalX will have a shorter wait time, but much less chance you’ll actually get your money.

As mentioned previously, I already received my $10 BTC from Circle. I’d also recommend reading there blog post here, which gives some good suggestions on how to use that BTC. Are you fan of BTC? If so, what article do you think is the best introduction to BTC and cryptocurrency in general? Have you signed up for either of these promotions?

That $20 in BTC could be worth over $600 today if you held on to it.

Same here with Circle. I did get an email from DigitalX saying I would receive the $10 when they go active.

I think the Circle promotion has ended. You no longer need an invitation to sign-up for it, which I just did, and bitcons were not deposited to my account.
