Citi is sending out an email offer to get a $50 Home Depot gift card at a discount. The standard price for all gift cards is 5,000 points for a $50 gift card. The discounted promotion price is one of the following (offer varies by person):
- $50 Home Depot gift card for 4,000 points
- $50 Home Depot gift card for 4,250 points
- $50 Home Depot gift card for 4,500 points
The Fine Print
- Valid through 4/11 or 4/12 (promo shows 4/11, but during shopping it shows 4/12)
- Only $50 denomination is on sale
- Only available as physically mailed card
Our Verdict
This deal might interest some people as Home Depot gift cards became increasing valuable since they tightened the use of merchandise credits (they now require photo ID for that), leaving very little in the way of discounted gift cards on the secondary exchanges.
If you got the 20% off deal, there can be room for gift card reselling here as well.
If you typically get 1.25%+ value from your ThankYou points by redeeming them for travel, this deal is likely not worthwhile.
