5,000/10,000 Mile Referral Bonus For The US Airways Barclay Card 50,000 Mile Offer

In case you didn’t know Barclay has increased the sign up bonus on their US Airways card. They currently have two offers:

It’s important to note that when the US Airways & American Airlines programs merge in 2015, the US Airways cards will be replaced by the Aviator silver & Aviator red cards. If your US Airways card currently has an anniversary bonus, you’ll keep this bonus otherwise you will not receive the bonus. Obviously I’d recommend you go with the preferred status offer as the 10,000 anniversary miles are a free add on.

Current cardholders should have received an e-mail regarding a referral bonus, you can now refer your friends & family to this card and receive 5,000 or 10,000 miles as a bonus when they are approved. You can earn a limit of 50,000 miles and the deal is valid until January 18th, 2014.  Unfortunately you can only refer people to the offer without the anniversary bonus.

It’s entirely possible that you could refer a friend and then get them to call in to be upgraded to the offer with an anniversary bonus and I think Barclay will be generous in offering good retention bonuses to those without the anniversary miles but I’d still encourage people to sign up for the offer with the 10,000 additional miles.

You can view more credit cards that offer referral bonuses here. Because we don’t have credit card affiliate links on this site, we’ve decided to not list our personal referral links on this site either as they are basically the same thing.

Get $14 for using my referral link !!! Email me at [email protected] with your first and last name and I will send you a referral link. If you are approved before Jan 18th 2015 using my link and I get the referral bonus points, I will mail you a $14 check. Your annual fee could be $75 instead of $89 with my offer.

You’ve got a typo in your post – you can earn a limit of 50,000 miles through referalls, not 10,000.

What’s interesting is that this email also tells us that card applications will still be open through 1/18/15.
