BevRAGE Review – Get Cash Back on Beer, Wine & Liquor Purchases

In our recent Ibotta review, a couple readers mentioned how it stacks well with bevRAGE for alcohol purchases. Since I wasn’t familiar with that program, I asked reader Carl if he could do a review and he graciously agreed.

Take it away Carl.

Overview

BevRAGE

BevRAGE is a mobile phone app which offers rebates on adult beverages.

Get cash back when you buy drinks from the store, bar, or restaurant by submitting the receipt to bevRAGE. The rebates range from $1 to $5 per purchase.

You’ll find rebates on store purchases for things like a 6-pack of beer or for a bottle of wine or spirits. There are also rebates on drinks and shots bought at a bar or restaurant.

Signing Up

It’s easy and free to sign up for bevRAGE. Either enter your phone number on the bevrage.com site or follow the links to download the app for Android or iPhone.

The signup process can be done by signing in with Facebook or the good ole’ fashion way.

The app can not be used in Texas and NC.

Navigating the App

Here’s what the home page looks like:

bevrage 2

Below the bevRAGE logo you’ll find a locator and a drop-down menu which features “Stores” and “Bars and Restaurant.”

First, enter your location, then check out the offers shown for Stores and for drink purchases at Bars & Restaurants.

Under ‘Stores’ you will see rebates on Spirits, Beer, Wine and Mixers. Under ‘Bars and Restaurants’ you will see Spirits, Beer and Wine. Click on one of those options (the blue button) to view the current offers in your area.

Also, on the homepage you’ll see featured deals and various banner offers.

Available Offers

There are two kinds of offers available on bevRAGE.

  • An offer on a specific brand, e.g. get $2 back when you buy a 12-pack of Heineken
  • A general offer on any brand, e.g. get $1 back when you buy any chardonnay

All offers can be used at any store, provided it’s within your selected area. This makes it super easy to earn rebates any time you buy, whether you are out at a restaurant or shopping at your local grocery store or liquor store.

When you find a rebate you like, either save the offer, share it, or hit the “redeem now” button. Your Saved Offers can be found in the second tab on the bottom of the app.

One thing to keep in mind is that these rebates have a limit; you have to act to claim them before the limit is reached.

To recap, you need to save the offer, then submit the receipt; and the receipt submission needs to be done before the offer expires and before the offer fills up. I’ve never seen the offer fill up prior to the expiration, but it’s technically possible as per the terms.

Making a Purchase

When you purchase the item make sure to get an itemized receipt. I cannot stress this enough; without proof of purchase on the receipt you won’t get the rebate.

Through the app, take a picture of the itemized receipt. If it takes multiple photos to capture the one receipt, that’s okay – just make sure to get a clear image of the entire receipt.

After submitting the receipt, bevRAGE will review and approve the rebate within 24-48 hours. If approved, your earnings will be available in your account balance. Earnings can be viewed on the third tab at the bottom of the app.

Referral Bonus

BevRAGE has a $2 referral bonus. The referrer and the new member will each get a $2 bonus. The bonus only comes after the new member redeems their first offer.

Shameless plug my referral code is: VJQFQKHS.

[Editor’s note: please do not leave referrals in the comments to this post. Instead add them to this dedicated BevRAGE referral thread.]

Payment

BevRAGE pays out via PayPal and by check.

If you choose the Paypal option, there is no minimum amount needed to request payout. After verification and approval, the money will show up in your Paypal account within 48 hours.

If you choose the check payment option you must get to $20.00 minimum in order for a payment to be sent. Allow an additional 2 weeks for processing times.

Our Verdict

The app is very simple to use. I have only had the app for about 3 months now and have cashed out a couple of times. The “any 6, 12, or 24 pack” offers are how I hit most of the cash payouts, and then I’ll also use the restaurant offers for any beer or wine.

This app is best used in conjunction with other shopping apps like Ibotta, SavingStar, Checkout51, etc., and it’s definitely a legitimate way to earn a few more dollars for your alcoholic purchases. For me…two thumbs up.

This app is great. I’ve already earned 7 bucks, mostly on the “any six pack” and “any 12 pack” deals. They send the money via Paypal with non minimum cashout.

I have no idea how long these deals will last, but so far so good.

How often do the coupons refresh? As in, how long once I use the $1 off a 12-pack can I do it again?

I like the app so far, this is really going to add up!

I’ve been using BevRage for a couple months now and have only had positive experiences with them. Usually see the payout him PayPal in 24 hours or less.

I know! It makes me so mad. I miss out on alcohol rebates on Ibotta because of NC too.

Great post and review. Thank you. Pennsylvania gets no love, or just too restrictive with their laws. It’s interesting that NJ does not like 6-pack offers, maybe they sell plenty of those already.

Best,

PedroNY

We opened a zoo recently, so this is perfect timing. Gonna go purchase some bears right now!

(Or perhaps it was a typo in the title :). )

In the URL it says “bear” instead of “beer”.

Yeah I fixed it, it was in the title originally.
