Free UPS Smart Pick Up For One Year (Displaying Ten Years)

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Get one year of UPS Smart Pick up for free, works for both new and existing customers. For some reason it’s actually showing as expiring in 2026, I think this is an error that will most likely be fixed but YMMV. You also get 10% of UPS ground & 20% off domestic air and international shipments

UPS is really pretty terrible at this kind of thing. I renewed MyChoice recently with a promo and it was a disaster. In similar fashion, I signed up using the promotion linked here and I honestly can’t tell if they’re going to be invoicing me for a weekly pickup fee or not. They just use vague language.

Additionally, shipping through eBay’s portal or using Amazon’s inbound shipping for FBA is effectively using another UPS account. The terms of this deal specifically prohibit using the free Smart Pickup option with another UPS account.

I’ll probably try this, but my guess is it’s not going to work well.

Unfortunately, the discounted rates for this promo program are considerably worse than the eBay promo program rates, and applying this promo would completely replace the eBay promo program. There’s just not enough benefit for me in the free Smart Pickups to be worth the additional shipping fees that I would be paying. Plus, the PDF terms clearly state “first 52 weeks from date of enrollment”, so yes you’re probably right that the trial period would probably be fixed later on.

My packages would probably get stolen all the time if I tried to leave them for Smart Pickup anyway 🙂 More peace of mind to leave it at a secure location. Doesn’t bother me too much since I’m not a particularly large volume seller.

Couldn’t you ship through Ebay to get the discount yet use the free Smart Pickup to avoid having to take them somewhere? I feel like I’m missing something.

I feel like I’m missing something as well? When I try to ship directly from eBay, it only lets me select USPS or FedEx. For UPS shipping, I need to login to the UPS eBay portal. eBay even has its own dedicated page for that:
