We’re republishing this post (first posted June 2014) because Hyatt is currently running a promotion where you can get a 20% rebate on points redeemed through July 31st, 2015 if you have this credit card. Frequent Miler confirmed that you can get this offer if you’re a new Chase Hyatt cardholder, but you’ll need to enroll manually.
The Chase Hyatt card is one of the more popular cards on the market due to the fact it gives you two free night certificates at any Hyatt property worldwide. I was doing some research for an upcoming hotel credit card post and saw mention of the same offer that also came with a $50 statement credit. Here’s how to get that offer:
- Navigate to the website of any U.S Hyatt property. Click here for the Grand Hyatt New York.
- Make a dummy booking
- Choose any dates in the “make a reservation section” then click check availability
- Select any room on the second page
- Scroll down to “Credit Card Information” section. Next to that you should see a banner advertisement for the 2 free night + $50 statement credit offer (see below)
You’ll get the $50 statement credit after your first purchase and the two free nights after $1,000 in spend within three months. The offer does say that “This bonus offer is valid only for first-time Hyatt Credit Card applicants booking a reservation on Hyatt.com” but this FlyerTalk thread is littered with people who have successfully gotten this deal without completing their reservation.
If you’re looking for the best places to use these free night certificates I’d recommend having a look at this post by Matt from Saverocity. It’s slightly dated (e.g no Andaz Maui on there) but it’s a really great run down and fantastic analysis (as usual) by Matt.
I’m well aware (now) that this offer has been around for awhile. I didn’t know about it so I figured it was better to share in case others aren’t also aware.
Awesome!
this is a great tip you cant find in any other points sites. great.
Applied earlier today for IHG card – instant approval. Tried Hyatt (Chase’s website link, while logged in) and turns out application didn’t even go through. Glad I found this post – just filled in the deets and instant approval again. That’s 2 for 2 with Chase today, and that’s with a security freeze on my Experian report – the one they always pull from. Thanks for posting this Doc!

Welcome, glad to hear you got approved for the higher bonus!
I was able to see the offer after selecting room type, and got instant approve of $5,000 with FICO 743.
(also approved of the Disney Premier with $200 statement credit for $5,000 right after this.)
Thanks for the article; I signed up the way you mentioned, hopefully the $50 credit will be applied! I also wrote a blog post about my experience and put a link to this article, hope that is okay!

Of course that is fine, I’ve added your blog to my feedly as well.
Does anyone know if the 2 free nights can be used at Hyatt’s all-inclusive Zila/Zilara resorts?
Yes
I just signed up for the Hyatt card and I didn’t realize this offer was still available. Sad day 🙁
Chase will bonus match, try sending them a secured message and you might get the statement credit. Let us know how it goes.
1) Most people have sucess by Sending a SM to get the added bonus.
2) Applying for the card when you are a Diamond member make the free nights into suite nights! Start a “status match” and become Diamond for free!
