- A HUGE LifeMiles Promo Probably Worth Skipping by Wandering Aramean. Really didn’t/don’t understand the hype about this offer, are people really that miles poor that purchasing miles at above 1¢ each makes sense?
- Star Alliance Member and Amex/Starwood Transfer Partner ANA Increasing Award Prices October 15 by View From The Wing. An unannounced immediate change not longer after the program was launched spells trouble.
- How Do Bloggers Learn about Promotions and Program Changes? by Travel Codex. These days I get very little information directly from companies as they generally either give me critical information after it’s already public or don’t want to work with me directly anymore (I wonder why, no I will not just repost your press release that fails to mention all the negative aspects of your announcement). Instead I largely rely on you, my readers! So make sure you contact us if you see/notice something that should be covered and isn’t.
- New Container Store credit card will let you buy stuff to organize stuff you bought with other credit cards by PFdigest. Looks like Synchrony is trying to make a push with store cards that offer no rewards but financing instead. Will be interesting to see what the uptake on cards like this and the Newegg card are. I predict they won’t do nearly as well as Synchrony are expecting.
- EXCLUSIVE: Marriott Rewards Rolling Out Changes to the Program by View From The Wing. All positive changes, let’s hope there aren’t any unexpected surprises when the changes are officially announced.
- Should bloggers accept free stuff? Sure, what the heck. by PFDigest. I get a lot of different offers for blogging about different products/services, sometimes if I find it interesting I’ll ask them to offer my readers something instead. I also sometimes decline the offer and then post something negative about whatever it was because I thought it sucked. I don’t really have an issue with other bloggers accepting freebies and like PFD said, maybe if I was doing this full time I’d consider it more but at the moment it’s not something I do/will do.
Thanks for the mention! Being avoided by corporate PR types is a good thing 🙂
