- Home Miles, Points, Travel Hacking & Deals Editor Notes Why I Removed A Recent Post & A Word of Caution About… by Miles to Memories. I absolutely hate when big corporations bully bloggers with legal threats like this – it’s a clear sign that the legal system is broken in this country (do what we say, otherwise we will use our superior resources to waste as much of your time as possible). I think Shawn absolutely did the right thing and I sure as shit won’t be promoting anything to do with that company again.
- How to (maybe) receive targeted Amex business card offers by Frequent Miler. Makes sense, I’ve received targeted offers in a similar way before. Might be worth paying the $10 to set up a dummy domain just for this. Some people have gotten 150,000 American Express business platinum offers recently.
- Deciding between, applying for, and changing between US Bank credit cards by Freequent Flyer. I didn’t realize you couldn’t product change between co-branded and US branded cards. That’s a real shame, I was hoping to get another cash+ card when I get rid of the Club Carlson. I’ve also updated our best downgrade option page to reflect this.
- The 15 Best Ways to Save Money on Amazon by Frugal Hack Me. Some really nice tips there, in particular I really like the look of Paribus. Definitely going to give that a shot. Â I don’t think the Amazon store prime card is the best option for Amazon purchases but 5% is still best in show.
- How to book Club Carlson award nights if availability isn’t showing up (Book those free award nights soon!!) by Ewwiccc. Time is running out to book those Club Carlson last night free rooms, get on it.
- Is the Genius In-N-Out Burger Trick DEAD??? by Fly and Dine. Wow, sorry for that deadline. Basically you can’t use the parking spot shuttle to get to In-N-Out anymore near LAX. I kind of wish there was just a dedicated In-N-Out shuttle, but I guess that’s not possible.
- What happened to $twtr yesterday? by Saverocity Finance. I see single stock investing as a form of gambling, I do it but it represents a very small percentage of my total investments. It’s very difficult (see: impossible) for an investor to beat the market when accounting for fees over the long term and when it does happen it’s usually either due to insider information or pure luck. Like Matt says, low cost ETF’s are the way to go.
- Ebay permanently bans me by Miles per day. Last sentence is key for me: Moral of story – don’t circumvent eBay purchase limits
- Why Vaccinating Your Children is Important by USA.gov. Please vaccinate your kids. I’m yet to hear a compelling argument for why you shouldn’t vaccinate. Unless of course they can’t be vaccination for medical reasons – which is why it’s so important for everybody else to vaccinate. I know this has nothing to do with consumer credit, but whatever.
