The Offer – Staples Gift Card Deal
- Purchase $50 Staples e-gift cards and receive a $10 Staples promo card free. Limit 4.
The Fine Print
- This eGift Card Offer is valid between June 14 and June 20, 2015, or until the max issuance of $10 Staples “ePromo Cards” has been reached.
- A customer will be eligible to receive one $10 Staples “ePromo Card” per $50 Qualifying Order per customer.
- Limit of four $10 Staples ePromo Cards per customer.
- Your $10 Staples ePromo Card will be emailed to the email address provided during the Qualifying Order on the valid date of June 21, 2015. Your $10 Staples ePromo card will NOT be sent immediately following the Qualifying Order.
- Only one $10 Staples “ePromo Card” may be redeemed per in store or online transaction.
- The $10 Staples “ePromo Card” is only valid for redemption between 06/21/2015 and 07/05/2015.

The Offer – iTunes Gift Card Deal
- Purchase a $50 physical iTunes gift card from Staples.com for the cost of $42.50.
The Fine Print
- Limit of 10 gift cards can receive the discount.
Our Verdict
The Staples gift card deal won’t earn 5x with INK since it’s processed through Cashstar, while the iTunes deal will earn 5x with INK or a different card which earns bonus rewards at an office supply store.
It’s worth noting that there’s also a coupon to get 25% back in Staples rewards and if I’m not mistaken these Staples e-gift cards can be printed and used in-store so the timing is good here.
As far as portals are concerned, it used to be possible to get portal cashback on the purchase of third-party gift cards from staples.com, but it seems that many/most portals aren’t paying out anymore. (As for Cashstar, you’re supposed to be able to get 2% by going through the portal but the system seems to redirect you to one specific gift card and I don’t see how it will work.)
