Our Verdict
First of all, thanks to reader Jason for e-mailing me about this offer. Unfortunately it’s only one use, I’m unsure if it’s possible to use somebody else’s offer or not. When you click the apply button from the e-mail, none of the information is pre-filled so it’s entirely possible that you can use somebody else offer. In saying that it’s also entirely possible that the offer is tied to their name and you wouldn’t receive the extra 25,000 miles (or the $100 that offer currently comes with).
The offer eventually redirects to a http://www.applyonlinenow.com/ with an offer code, I tried calling in to see if I could just use that none unique code and didn’t have any success. I asked Jason why he might have been targeted and he wasn’t sure, but he did say that he hadn’t applied for any Bank of America cards in a long time.
Some people on Flyertalk have suggested that you need to make sure you have an Alaska Airlines loyalty account and then opt in for partner offers. If anybody else has received this targeted offer, please let us know any reasons as to why you think you might have been targeted for this offer.
50,000 miles is the highest the sign up bonus has been on this card and it hasn’t been offered publicly since late 2013 (and even that didn’t last long) so if you received this targeted bonus I’d jump on it. Keep in mind that Bank of America combines credit pulls and also lets you get approved for multiples in the same day.
No way to get my recently opened 25K with $100 SC card matched to 50K offer, called three times…. just no way?
man…whatta deal..wish they targeted me!
What concerns me is the anti-churning language. I’ve never seen that before from this card.
