Our Verdict
Currently if you sign up and use somebodies referral link you’ll receive one free ride up to $30. So this deal is really only better if you plan on taking rides that are less than $30. I have mixed feelings about Uber, there are the safety concerns, the growing chorus that it’s not a female friendly working environment (especially their corporate), they don’t do enough to manage disabled riders, there are safety issues and there is also the fact that drivers are being paid less and less. That being said, I have a lot of issues with traditional taxi companies as well.
That said, $30 free credit is $30 free credit. You might as well take advantage of it and if you have issues with the service then stop after your two free rides are over.

How hard is it to “hack” uber, as in creating multiple accounts or even driving yourself with two phones. We agree on the many negative points of Uber BTW, they seem to be devolving into what the taxi industry was very rapidly.
