Underrated Blogposts

Sometimes I put a ton of work into a post and it gets a lot of attention, other times I put a ton of work into a post and it gets virtually none. There are times where I am particularly proud of a post and nobody seems to notice. I decided it was a good idea to try and give some additional attention to some posts I’ve written and also ask my blogging friends to do the same for their own sites. Below are three of my own posts that I think deserve attention, along with four posts from each of the bloggers I asked.

Doctor of Credit

• What counts as a direct deposit? Almost all bank account bonuses have a direct deposit requirement, the fine print generally states that this must be payroll or a government benefit but in reality an ACH transfer or similar usually works. This page shows what’s worked for what bonus and when, as well as what hasn’t worked. This took me a few weekends to put together and I constantly add new data points to it.
• FICO Scores. This page is basically the reason as to why I created this site, I saw a lot of misinformation on what a FICO score was and how it was calculated. Rather than creating a resource that would sell these scores to consumers, I create this to try and educate them instead. If you sign up for credit cards, have a mortgage (or plan to get one) or use any type of credit then this is required reading.
• Best hotel credit cards. When recommending hotel credit cards to readers I had to constantly relook information up, this was a bit too time consuming so instead I created this resource. All of the hotel cards that are currently available, their sign up bonus, annual fees, anniversary bonuses and the best cards for specific situations (e.g luxury or budget stays).

I also reached out to a bunch of other bloggers that I respect and read daily to ask them for a list of their under appreciated blog posts. Unfortunately most of them either didn’t respond or said they didn’t have time to put together a list. I’ll update this post if this changes. At the moment only View from the Wing responded (in fact he wrote his own post on the subject which you can read here).
