The Offer
- Virgin Atlantic is offering status matches to their Flying Club Gold or Silver Status. If you’re successfully matched you’ll keep this status for one year. Let’s take a look at the requirements for both matches.
- Gold Status:
- Already have a future flight booked with us in either Premium Economy or Upper Class
- Hold an equivalent top tier membership with another airline’s frequent flyer program (see table below)
- Be able to send a valid recent statement showing that you fly enough times on the Virgin Atlantic network to maintain gold status
- Silver Status:
- Already have a future flight booked with us in any cabin
- Hold an equivalent second tier membership with another airline’s frequent flyer program (see table below)
- Be able to send a valid recent statement showing that you fly enough times on the Virgin Atlantic network to maintain silver status
- To receive the match you must send all relevant info to [email protected]
The Fine Print
- To qualify for this offer, you must be an existing member of Flying Club or enrol in the Flying Club programme online or via our Customer Centre.
- Your Flying Club Gold or Silver membership will be valid from 12 months from the date the account is upgraded.
- Gold members will need to earn 1,000 tier points in the membership period to retain Gold status.
- Silver members will need to earn 400 tier points in the membership period to retain Silver status.
- This offer cannot be transferred to any other traveller.
- This offer is not applicable for SkyMiles Diamond and Medallion members.
- Virgin Atlantic reserves the right to withdraw the offer at any time if deemed necessary. Approval for the Gold and Silver membership is at the discretion of Virgin Atlantic
Our Verdict
You can view the gold benefits in detail here & silver benefits here. In my opinion needing the already booked ticket (especially in premium economy or business class for the gold status) kills the deal. I wonder if an award booking would qualify? Either way thought this might be useful to some readers.
