Walmart Back With Their Best Credit Card Offer Ever

Walmart has a history of offering really bad credit card sign up bonuses in store for their credit card (they’ve offered a pumpkin & 2L of Soda), well they are back and their offer is their best yet!

walmart credit card

In all seriousness, the bonus is for applying not being approved. Looks like the Walmart credit card is issued by Synchrony and they almost exclusively pull TransUnion, so if that report was frozen you could probably take advantage of this offer. Now I really feel like some milk duds.

lol this must be in the ghetto WMs… def havent seen this (more specifically: a table setup w/the goods) around my neck of the woods. LOL

from the post above it sounds like a bit of hassle to get the credit to post afterthefact — which makes it seem like it’s applied after you get approved. not sure where Will is getting the whole $25 GC for applying thing.

Were you seriously considering taking time out of your day for $1 in soda?!?

For a soda, no. For candy and $25 off my purchase, maybe. what u got so thing against free money? figure this takes about an hour out of my life. So comes out to $25/hr plus some candy.

Then it isn’t free money, is it? I make quite a bit more than $25/hr, plain and simple.

Your time is valuable too!

If you’re talking full time (or more), I don’t know if I would even be bothering to take the time to read about these different offers! LOL

Its any register. And if you get the clerk that hasn’t done one before, you can piss off a half dozen people in line behind you.

I recently saw $35 offered just before Christmas. Not sure if that was only local or if it is still offered. When I did the $25 deal in 11/2014 (hey, I was buying a bike for the granddaughter), I had to call them a couple months later to get the credit applied. CSR acted like she was doing me favor. It may be that she used her discretionary authority instead of a drawn out inquiry, but it still felt awkward.

Wyle what we’re u thinking? I’m no one to turn down free money but $25 for a credit pull does not seem with it when there are so many better sign up bonuses out there.

Lol walmart knows it’s demographics. Soda and candy for all the fatties. I might go do this since it says it’s for applying not for getting approved. Think I’ll just give them the wrong social that way won’t have to freeze transunion.

UMM I DONT KNOW WHERE TO ASK THIS SO HERE GOES:

i thought if you make under $600 you dont have to pay taxes so do i have report and file taxes for bank bonuses that are like 100/200/300?

thank you charles/willie/random friendly helpful peep:)

This is wrong, 1099-INT has a $10 minimum reporting requirement.

You’re thinking of a 1099-MISC (which has a $600 minimum reporting requirement, but as far as I know is only used by Citi when they give non-cash bonuses e.g. points or miles).

Usually TU, but when WM solicited me for the WM store card, they kept pulling EQ.
If you get approved for the WMDC (dual card) Mastercard, picking up a $1 2liter and asking for $100 cash back is cheaper than many ATM fees.
