The Offer
The Grubhub, Eat24 and Seamless apps now accept Venmo to pay and split the tab. They have an offer to celebrate:
- Get $10 off an order of $15+ with promo code: EATWITHVENMO
The Fine Print
- Offer is available on a first-come, first-serve basis; limited to first 20,000 users across Grubhub, Eat24 and Seamless who properly redeem the offer.
- To redeem, enter code at checkout on Grubhub’s, Eat24’s or Seamless’ iPad® or iPhone® or Android apps, and pay for your order using Venmo.
- Valid from 12:01 AM CST on 4/24/2018 through 11:59 PM CST on 5/8/218, or until the maximum total redemptions have been claimed, whichever is earlier (the “Promo Period”).
- Order must be $15, before tax, tip and delivery fee.
- Only valid on personal (non-corporate) accounts. Grubhub reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the offer, or any part of it, for any reason at any time, including, without limitation, if any fraud or technical failure impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the offer.
- Limited to 1 redemption per diner during the Promo Period.
- Cannot be combined with other discounts.
Our Verdict
Not free lunch, but cheap lunch? Pretty sweet deal which works even for existing customers. If you’re a new customer, you can get $7 off your first order, but the fine print sounds like it won’t stack with the Venmo discount.
Hat tip to Milestomemories and SD
The code won’t work if you select pickup, have to choose delivery as your option. Just placed a future order for dinner tonight and it took $10 off.
Ah thanks. I was trying to do pickup
It’s 5/7, the grubhub app says expired (even with delivery and venmo selected as payment option). Maybe next time!
So, I ran into the problem of the code not working at Eat24 when I tried to use it for a pickup order. I complained to CS via chat and the person there quoted terms which said it was valid only on delivery orders. However, those were not what was in my terms. Eventually they claimed that because of the “Order must be $15, before tax, tip and delivery fee.” terms, that meant that it had to be delivery. I told the person they were useless and ended the chat.
I then forwarded the email to their CS address and said it clearly did not say that delivery was required. I got email back today and much to my surprise, the rep responded that he agreed that it should have worked and that if I place an order, they will credit the $10 back to me. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome (of course, I didn’t place the order or get the $10 yet).
Sadly this is just like every other Grubhub coupon out there now, it requires delivery. They send me coupons for $7,10,or 12 off $15 or more a couple times a week. Used to be you just had to make up a new email address. Then you needed a new phone number each time. Now all coupons are delivery only so they’ve found a way to severely curtail coupon use.
Sucks but can’t say I blame them. I’d probably saved at least $300 over the past 18 months or so with their coupons. No more.
FYI there is a similar app called “Slice” that lets you use the promo code “APP3” for $3 off, you only need to create new email/phone and can still do pickup. Not as many locations and a focus on pizza places, but it’s something.
Is there a delivery charge added after check out or is the price increased to pass thru the cost? Went through the motions but dont have venmo.
Delivery charge is based on the restaurant you order from. It will be listed on there when you order. Prices on grubhub, eat24, etc are also higher than if you ordered directly from the restaurant
Coupon code worked for me on the App.
PSA – Install Venmo and then it shows as a payment option. It took me a few to figure out!
DW & I got banned by Venmo when trying to send money to each other the day we signed up.
Is there any way to kiss & makeup with them?
I haven’t been able to get back in with them.
