$100 Sears Gift Card for $85 on eBay, Stack with 6% Bonus Bucks for Moneymaker

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Purchase a $100 Sears physical gift card for just $85 from Giftcardmall on eBay. Limit 2.

The Fine Print

  • Limited quantity available (There currently are 685 sold and around 15k available)

Our Verdict

This is a great deal on Sears gift cards. The offer is particularly awesome because many of us were targeted with a bonus Bucks offer for today and tomorrow of 3x Bucks, or 6%.

If you don’t need the Sears cards, you can resell them for around 84% of their value. (The prices are always in flux so this amount isn’t certain to be there when you get the cards.)

  • Pay $170 for $200 in Sears gift cards
  • Sell for $168
  • Get $10.20 back in eBay Bucks
  • 1.2% from the portal, or $2.04
  • 2% from the credit card, or $3.40
  • Net profit: $13.64

Of course, if you bought those eBay gift cards at a 10% discount from Target, the profit would be more than double this amount.

I haven’t gotten targeted for Bucks promotions in months 🙁

Same here – in fact I’ve never ever received anything like this. I always cry when I see Chuck doing the math…

I never did either until I went to my e-mail communications preferences, or something of sort, uder profile, and checked the box to receive general promotions. As soon as I did that they started coming in.

Got it! Thank U!

Is there away to sign up to get notified of sales from paypaldigital and giftcardmall etc?

Why not just buy Sears gift cards through the discover portal? 30% cash back (10% through the portal, 5% category bonus, then multiplied by 2 for the Double Cash back promo), then resell the gift cards. $28 profit per $200 card.

Good thinking but many of us have already maxed out their Discover allowance for this quarter 😉

Colin

True. Even factoring that in, the Discover deals portal alone makes it more profitable than this. 22% back, and reselling the gift card would yield a $12 profit. So if you aren’t targeted for the increased Ebucks multiplier, then the Discover portal makes more sense.

Whoops, I meant to say “More likely to be *more* profitable than this…” (as the offer in the blog requires the targeted Ebucks offer.)

how does that work?

Go through discover deals sears portal and buy 1500 worth of sears gc with your discover card for 30%

Then later go through the sears portal again and use those gc and get another 20% (after double)?

I would recommend a test to ensure your purchase is counted as a department store before you go wild. Physical gift cards bought through the portal **may** be fulfilled by K-Mart which will not count as a department store. The e-gift cards definitely count as a department store. I bought one on Monday, Aug 17.

Also as policy the Sears gift card cannot be used to buy a Visa Gift Card, but your mileage may vary. It’s always worth a shot.

Hi,

Just want to ask how to get 6% ebay bucks… I always got the default ebay bucks for 2%.
I have learnt a lot from here! Thank you! =)

Purchase keeps getting declined looks like from gift card mall…is there a limit on purchases in a certain time period? Just bought 2 of the $100 target cards from them.

How do you check how many are left for sale, specially when they limit how many you can buy since you can’t enter a high number in the box etc.?

Despite opting into everything, I’ve only gotten bonus ebay bucks once – but at least it was the 10x.

I got an email from Ebay today for violation. I have been buying several of this GC deal using my name and my wife’s name.

I would like a data point if you don’t mind! I have never had a problem doing eBay deals like this with both me and my wife. We have separate eBay accounts, separate PayPal accounts, and they are listed in separate names. I use separate Chrome users as well, but of course it is the same IP address considering we both live in the same house and use the same internet connection. I don’t bother doing one on mobile to get a different IP address.

Do you use the same PayPal or same e-mail or something? Since me and my wife are two different human beings, I don’t see how this would violate the policy. The policy doesn’t say 2 per household — it says 2 per person. So I would argue with them about that 🙂 Are you sharing *anything* that would trigger that violation e-mail?

As far as i know, they all should be separate too…
Separate emails, accounts, and paypal.
the timing were close though…
I finished mine…then maybe few more minutes I did my wife using the same computer.

i have been ebay member for a long time, but i just started this gift cards less than 2 months…

I was able to convert my $100 Sears gc into 4 $25 Shell gcs from Kmart. Of course not able spending about 20 mintues and 3 cashiers later in the store. First CSR didnt know how to ring up, 2nd did but upon cashout cards didnt activate. Finally had to go to customer service desk and it get out fixed. The problem seemed to be the $50 gcs being a bad batch. Also note that I had to had the gc over to the CSR to scan at checkout. I had read you could swipe the card yourself, but that was not the case.
