Awhile ago reddit user benjinito saw the following page when they logged into their United account:
As you can see in the bottom left corner there is an offer for 70,000 united miles and the offer is supposed to end on June 30th. Unfortunately when clicking the link, you’re prompted to log in and the offer doesn’t appear (just a blank page). But if you look at the URL you’ll see the following (emphasis mine):Â https://www.theexplorercard.com/70kLTO?cell=0wc&int_source=loyalty&mode=d&int_medium=uacom&int_campaign=explorer_70kpromo616&alm=16866&int_content=70k_50&partner_category=cc&partner_name=chase_acq&asset_position=hop2&promo_code=cell_0wc&targeting=eqs&launch_date=2016-06-01
As you can see the URL mentions the 70,000 point offer and also a launch date of June 1st, 2016. It’s possible (and plausible) that somebody accidentally loaded this offer in early and showed it before the official launch date. Because the offer requires logging in to be viewed (even if it is a blank page), I highly suspect this will be a targeted offer (although people have somewhat successfully been matched to these before).
Also worth keeping in mind that we think the new Chase 5/24 rule applies to United cards as well, but still aren’t 100% sure. Also, apparently there is a 500 United miles for $5 spend when using Visa checkout offer coming as well.
