Our Verdict
It seems like lately you’re not eligible for this deal if you’ve done the same points deal within the last 12 months. Still worth checking to see if you are targeted or not and obviously a great deal if you are. This deal works on third party gift cards, but not Amazon or Visa gift cards. I had the 30% off and it was working the other day, but I did not place the order and now when I try it, no discount. Clicking on the links above say there’s no offer. Ugh.
I just used the $0.01 method instead of $1.00 and yes, I received 30% off my items. I’m not sure why it’s not working for others but I guess one should confirm that the items in the cart are shipped and sold by AMAZON.
The discount shows up right before the order is placed, then disappears in the order summary afterwards. Items are sold and shipped by Amazon. Most likely it’s a bug that they fixed.
Just did another order with $0.01 Discover rewards and 30% off stuck this time. So definitely a bug that Amazon fixed.
Amazon didn’t even use any points. It also didn’t ask me to use points or give the option to use points at checkout. Hopefully they don’t cancel the $10 off.

After adding my Discover card back and waiting a few days, the link above gave me access to $10 off $75 instead of 30%. Looked through the things I had saved and none of them were sold by Amazon or aligned price wise, so ended up getting 3x $25 PetSmart gift cards. Successfully used my $0.03 of Discover rewards and got the $10 off.
I just got the 40% off, maxed at $50. Good deal.
I was able to successfully redeem this in my Amazon account the other day by selecting Discover cash back and paying for most of the order using my Amazon gift card balance, but my family member wasn’t as fortunate last night. The discount showed up on the final checkout screen, but after submitting the order, the discount mysteriously disappeared, so a higher amount was subtracted from the Amazon gift card balance. Canceled the order to try again, and the same thing happened again, but took a screenshot of the checkout page this time and was able to get an Amazon rep to add a promo credit to the account.
So make you go into your order details after placing the order to verify that you actually got the discount.
Same thing happening to me. Chatted with an Amazon rep and they said try again in 24 hours. Asked if they could apply the discount manually and they said they can’t. Maybe cause I’m not Prime?
Oops. Broke my rule to always leave a point in the account for one of these deals. I apply for cashback every month and was absent minded. Don’t be me
I would recommend leaving more than that in the future as some deals require more than 1 point.
Beware: It used to be that 1 Discover point was $0.01, but now it’s $1.00. I tried to spend $0.01 cashback and it showed the $10 discount on the checkout screen like before, but the charge went through without the discount and no Discover cashback was redeemed.
That would explain me and Peter‘s experience. I assume you placed an order with $1 in Discover points and the discount worked?
WTF now Amazon has removed Airbnb and other gift cards? I always bought gift cards on Amazon, now it seems they’re all gone, or at least Airbnb
It’s still there, I updated the link in the post now. Thx
Unfortunately I got $10 off $75 which is only 13% off
