    • Stay through February 28, 2021

Our Verdict

Marriott has offered this ‘deal’ a few times since off peak pricing was introduced. Given occupancy rates are so low anyway due to COVID-19 most if not all of these properties should be showing as off peak anyway. It’s actually a bit concerning that Marriott considers this a promotion. This gives weight to the theory that off peak pricing was introduced so that a broad devaluation could occur with no oversight in the first place.

I checked pricing for many properties earlier in the summer, and it’s amazing how few were on the off-peak pricing. Especially when the cash rate is so low. It’s actually seems to be not uncommon now that Google Maps shows a rate lower than what you get on Marriott.com or Hyatt.com.

The fact that it doesn’t include the 10% of properties that are doing well is the big tell

No reductions here in Santa Monica. 🙁 I have three nights of a mattress run I need to finish off using certs and was hoping I could do it without having to drive a bit again.

35k Certs just gained some value. Cat 5’s off peak is 30k.

40k certs can be used at a cat 6 off peak. I did that last time this happened.

As a 75 night choice reward. Otherwise just 35K and 50K certs.
