[Rumor] Chase To Offer Upgrade Bonuses

According to Chase insider EosHuffer Chase will offer a number of credit card upgrade bonuses from September 20th, 2021. Bonuses are as follows:

  • Mileage Plus -> Explorer, 5k miles after first purchase

  • United Select -> Quest, 5k miles after first purchase

  • Chase Sapphire -> Sapphire Preferred, first year AF waived

  • IHG Rewards Club Select -> IHG Premier, 5k pointsfirst purchase
  • Select Chase Ink’s, $100 for 5k spend

None of the bonuses are hugely exciting, but better than nothing.

Has this been confirmed? Like Alex below, I downgraded my CSR to a vanilla Sapphire when my annual fee came due earlier this year. I haven’t heard anything from Chase about being upgraded to the CSP. Was this rumor wrong, or do we need to affirmatively contact Chase and ask about the anonymous rumor we read about on the Internet?

Funny enough I downgraded from the CSR to the base Sapphire because Chase wasn’t giving me any retention offers and also charged me $550 for the AF when everyone else was getting $100 back/applying with AF of $450 a year ago.

I guess I’ll upgrade to the Preferred if they’ll waive the AF so thanks for letting us know!

I have a Question. Can we open Chase business cards without owning a business?

You have to own a business. It just doesn’t have to be a real business.

Checkout the free course on how to do it from 10XTravel Insider group. Follow their steps and tada. That’s how I did it

Yes you have to have a real business. It would be fraud otherwise.

Fortunately any side income what-so-ever counts as a real business .

So flipping an occasional item on Ebay would count, but not selling your old couch at a yard sale. (Assuming you did not buy it to resell).

You need to provide Chase your EIN. Provide your tax information for your business. You can be a sole proprietor. First Name and Last Name for business name then EIN. Chase stopped allowing people to use their SSN when COVID started.

You can use your SSN with Chase now. I’ve used mine and P2’s each on separate occasions for the Chase Ink card. Both were automatically approved with the last one being in late July (previous was maybe in April.)

The idiots at Chase have a lot of ideas but couldn’t release a premium Hyatt card!

I’m sure with how much Hyatt points are actually worth compared to every single other transfer partner, that the Hyatt card might be a loser for Chase.

hyatt card earning rates are good for the brand itself and just OK for everything else
as for hyatt as a transfer partner it’s a completely different question, but we don’t know who eats the potential loss

It remind me of the upgrade offer I get on my Amex Everyday cash card, $75 for spending $1000 then I have to keep it for one year which results in $95 annual fee. Can’t even break even since I don’t spend on places that counts as groceries/supermarkets that much.

In July, United MileagePlus® Card was forcibly converted to United Gateway℠ Card for many if not most of us.

I’m assuming this campaign only applies to the non-legacy MileagePlus® cards.
