Update 6/22/25: Some users are seeing 70k + $100 sc + $100 XP when logged in again.
Update 3/5/25: Available again, this time the dummy booking is: 60k + $100 SC + 100XP
The Offer
Direct link to offer (this is the public link, see below for additional option with $100 statement credit)
- Bank of America is offering a sign up bonus on the AirFrance/KLM FlyingBlue credit card of 70,000 miles after
$2,000$3,000 in spend within the first 90 days from account opening. - You’ll also get a bonus of 40 XP after meeting the minimum spend. That’s on top of the standard 60 XP awarded upon approval. Total 100 XP.
Reports are that if you do a dummy booking, you’ll get shown an offer for an additional $100 statement credit signup bonus, on top of the 70,000 and 40 XP. Some got the offer to show when NOT logged into their account and doing a cash booking.Dummy booking showing $150 Statement Credit + 60,000 Bonus Miles + 100 XP this time so not as good as the 70k + $100 offer.
Card Details
- Annual fee of $89
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 3x miles per $1 spent on AirFrance/KLM and Skyteam members
- 1.5x miles per $1 spent on all other purchases
- 60 XP (Experience Points) upon approval
- 5,000 anniversary bonus miles when you spend at least $50 in your previous card member year
- 20 XP (Experience Points) on card anniversary and an additional 40 XP if you spend $15,000 or more in your previous card member year
- No foreign transaction fees
Our Verdict
Previous best bonus on this card was 50,000 miles + $150. This 70,000 mile offer is probably more attractive given the 20k additional miles + 40 XP additional bonus. And utilizing the dummy booking trick to get the $100 statement credit makes this offer the best ever.
If you want to apply for this card I’d recommend reading our post with all the things you should know about Bank of America credit cards first. We’ll add this to our List of Best Current Credit Card Signup Bonuses.

It’s great for those who redeem to SEA. But it’s BofA so it’s a no for me.
Wick, what did BofA do to you? I hope that you can speak up and share your stories. Thank you
Wick
They didn’t approve a Biz card when I was 2/24. Crazy lol.
Jack
I hope that you don’t John Wick them…. Maybe you need to do their Biz checking bonus and get the card at the same time

AirFrance was never the best option for most people getting to Europe but I found them to be pretty useful when you needed more than 2 seats and were willing to pay a little extra for it. 60 to 95k from the West coast with a few hundred in fees was an acceptable trade off. This seems to have changed a few months back? Now the program seems absolutely destroyed. This 70k bonus offer is trash.
In your opinion, what’re the optimal options for most people getting to Europe? Thanks
niadnf
AF has some incredibly cheap airfare to European destinations with their “flash sales”, but they are doing aggressive dynamic pricing on award inventory, where even the fees/taxes change a lot recently. ~25K points to go from Gulf coast to IST, for example.
Just don’t make the mistake of exiting at CDG on a connection, they charge $70+ for carry on size/weight, or combination of the two, regularly requiring it to be checked when going through AF checkin.
Try using a award search engine like seats.aero to find best deal.
Thanks. Are you Dugroz?

Thanks for your tips again. Sorry I thought you are someone else
Were any of you able to product change or convert this card into a BoA CCR? I have a high CL and want to keep the card. Thank you!
I did that, but it was a couple years ago.
I was offered this option when I closed my card a few weeks ago.
Good to hear John. How long does it take for you to see your new card on online banking? How long does it take for you to receive the card in the mail?
John
John
Multiple people on the phone told me it’d take 2-4 weeks to receive the card. But none of them told me how long it takes to see the change on online banking….
KLM miles are so worthless IMO. and their mileage fees are HIGH. never again
Interesting–I only see a 60k mile offer for 3k spend with $100 statement credit via Air France when logged in and making a dummy booking. When I follow a google link to the Air france card through Air France, I get 70k but no statement credit. Directly through BofA, it’s only 50k miles for 2k spend.
anonymous, were you able to product change or convert this card into a BoA CCR? Thank you very much for all your other useful data points too!
anonymous Did you just call them to do this?
I’ve never tried to pc or convert it. I’m still basically happy with the card after 2 years. My dates are always very flexible, so I’ve been able to find acceptable award prices in Premium. I just rebooked my upcoming one-way (LAX to FCO) and saved 39,000 miles. Easiest to search with one of the 3rd-party award search tools, btw. When I saw the recent offer again in my account I was tempted to apply for a second card, but haven’t yet. – anonymous
Hi. you mentioned that you “rebooked my upcoming one-way (LAX to FCO) and saved 39,000 miles“.. does it have anything to do with the card? Any special benefits for holding the card I am not aware of, or you just pointed to the fact that the program is useful?
The latter. Nothing to do with having the card or not.
applied to the card and got approved but on my welcome package there was nothing on the bonus. It only says earn 3 miles per 1$ spent on qualifiying purchase made directly with air france…., Earn 1.5 miles per 1$ spent on all other purchases, get 60 xp experience point upon approval. Should I be worried? I previously had the card
Has anyone successfully downgrade or product change this card recently? I called the customer service and told that the only option is to close the card.
I have klm miles expiring soon, will getting this card stop the miles from expiring? Thanks in advance
Yes it will, but if you got your miles from transfers from the banks programs (Chase, AMex) you can just transfer another 1K points to AF/KLM and this will extend your miles.
If your miles are earned from flying or from the same card in the past, then transferring points will not help, but getting this card will.
Consider creating the Family Pool (with somebody else being the pool owner), and transferring all your miles to that person, the points should arrive to your P2 with brand new 2 year expiration date, and it will be easy to extend in the future by transferring 1K points to that person’s account.
I have applied it on 02/26 for 45000 + $100 SC, will the BOFA ever match it to the current offer bonus . If I called them ?
