The Offer
- AllTrails is offering a one year AllTrails+ membership for $17.99 when you use promo code SUMMERNOW
Our Verdict
Discount won’t work if you have an existing membership but will work for new or previous members. I really like AllTrails and I’d probably pay for the + version if I could pay for a lifetime membership but not something I want to pay for annually.
Just want to throw out my datapoint as I’m a big fan of the AllTrails app and encourage you to subscribe. I use the Peak level since I like the weather integration and hike a ton, but the Plus level is 90% of the value.
-VPN’d into Brazil using Mulvald (Sao Paulo, not Fortaleza) which got it to ~$20/y for Peak.
-Clicked through the AA portal. It says it tracked and I’ll get $2, but I used a coupon code so might not work. (shrug)
-Used MADELYN30 code to save 30%
-Used BofA elite card with my usual US billing info.
-Charge and upgrade processed. All set for another year at $14 and annual renewal at $20.
Get out there and enjoy nature!
Bills as 49 BRL (~9 USD) before the discount if you VPN to Brazil. BofA charged me $4.57 on my no forex card after the coupon.
Quite honestly the app has a lot to be desired. Every time you finish a hike it gives attaboys on how great a job you did. The zoom in/out/around drives me nuts.
Apple has free offline hiking routes for many places in the US. The app is worth $4 or $5, but not much more.
Importing .gpx file + Caltopo (or any other software) is the way to go. Alltrails is a somewhat decent place to update yourself on latest conditions, but that’s about it.

$5.85 via India. Billed as a domestic transaction, so no need to work around a foreign transaction fee.
Pretty sure they run this promo all the time. It’s not a special price and you often get this targeted price in the app after a while. Not a true or real promo tbh… Plus, I think there is a similar app for free but not as “aesthetically pleasing”
isnt gaia better?
Gaia has much better mapping options. All Trails is better suited for identifying trail options based on reviews and trip reports. They’re both useful, but I find the most useful parts of All Trails are available via the free version.
Sounds like exercise, no thanks
I’m still using it after buying it through Indonesia by using Nord VPN. $4.96 USD.
I’m still using Organic Maps after buying it through Antarctica. $0.00 USD.
I like alltrails for getting quick weather update along the trail and for being able to save specific trails/routes in an area I am visiting (sometimes, I plan multiple months in advance and need to save the ones I finalize so I don’t forget)
New code available for spring for a 50% discount. spring2025

Indonesia using Nord VPN. $4.96. What a deal. Renews at double that in a year if I wish to keep it.
