Curious if they are still very chex sensitive. This is one of only a couple banks that I was not able to churn. I was last told, “Unfortunately, our Financial Intelligence Group declines applicants with 10 or more inquiries.” Not sure if I want to risk burning another chex inquiry.

Non-US citizens aren’t able to open an account online. Need to go in-person to open account.

I completed this legitimately by spending over $1,000 on my debit card. According to T&C, I should have received the bonus by end of day on April 13th. As of today, no bonus. I will call tomorrow.

Update:

CS Rep I talked to told me that my account didn’t have a promo code attached. I take lots of screen shots when doing bank bonuses (for situations such as this) and I told the rep I had documents showing that I added the promo code. Rep asked me to email them over for review.

Rep was also confused about what sort of document I might have as proof because- and I quote- “During account opening we don’t provide anything to the customer about the promotion.” (lol?)

Anyways, Rep said she’d have to reach out for an exception and I could expect some sort of response in a day or so. Next day I got an email saying she was successful in getting me an exception and I’d see the money in my account on 4/20.

Good reminder to always take screen shots. I’d have been SOL without mine.

These guys are like if ur drunk uncle ran a bank. I legit wanted to use them bc there was one right next to my gym and it would have been super convenient, and would keep my banking dollars in the local economy. But after having to call 2 times about my bonus and 3 other times about removing the $3/month bill pay option, I decided to just close it. Luckily PA has a glut of local banks to choose from.

3/28/23: I was able to open the account online with the Eastern PA $400 promo code and enroll in Online Banking. Funded $100 with Citi Double Cash as a purchase.
3/29/23: Received a call and then an email that my account could not be approved as my address is >25 miles from a branch. I am about 50 miles from the nearest branch.

They will be sending a refund check of my initial deposit. I asked if I could open the account in branch using the promo code and the rep told me it would be dependent on the specific branch. I’m not going to bother calling or driving an hour each way to do this bonus. Maybe next time if I’m headed up that way. For now, I’ll take my $2 cash back from the initial deposit! Oh well.

Ohio: I chatted with customer service today. The promo codes in the links above are only for PA. The service rep mentioned I would’ve had to receive a flyer with a code specifically for Ohio.

I opened the account Aug 1st, met the 1K debit card purchase requirement, and received the $400 bonus Jan 12th. Do I need to wait an additional 6 months before closing to avoid early term fees (or forfeiting the bonus), or does the 6 month period start from the date I opened the account?

Are you seeing 6 months from the DoC post or from the offer terms? I opened mine in Q4 and don’t see anything about a 6 month requirement
