[Targeted] Citi Sears (SYWR): Spending Offers For April – December

The Offer

  • Citi has sent out targeted spending bonuses on the Citi Sears card.
    • Earn $75 in statement credits when you spend $750 – $1,499.99 each month or earn $150 in statement credits when you spend $1,500 or more each month on eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases

Our Verdict

This is why this is our #1 store card. Will also stack with the other offers that are good for 2025 and for offers through May as well.

When following up on the missing April credit where they acknowledged the issue, they are now telling me my request can’t be responded to in online messaging and to call teh fraud early warning team. WTF?

Does anyone know whether purchases outside the US meet the criteria for this bonus? It would be worth eating the FTF for this deal.

I got a really weak offer on July 1:

Activate this offer and earn a $30 statement credit when you use your Shop Your Way Mastercard for each eligible purchase of $750 or more, up to a maximum total of $90 in statement credits.

My husband’s card oddly never got a GGR offer for 2025 which is fine because GGR on my card has been plenty. But his card just got a snail mail offer for the $150/250 on $1000/2000 version which is fantastic!

Only problem is we just took advantage of a BT offer on his card to transfer a balance that was on a 0% promo card that was ending. So now his card is unavailable to use. BUT in the same exact stack of snail mail was an offer from BofA for a transfer to one of his other existing cards. (We want to avoid opening new cards right now). Wishing I hadn’t done the BT a couple weeks ago but oh well. We’ll end up paying two transfer fees but the money from socking the balance in a high yield account plus the ability to get the extra $50 each month on the GGR offer will quickly make up for the fee.

maybe you can get a credit limit increase instead of doing another balance transfer

For GGR I got Earn a $150 statement credit when you spend $1000 – $1999.99 on eligible purchases each month.OR Earn a $250 statement credit when you spend $2000 or more on eligible purchases each month. This runs 8/1/25 through 12/31/25. Also, I’m still getting $100 for $1k in online spending. Just canceled my Amex Gold since it’s now useless, even with a modest retention offer.

I don’t actively track it, but I feel like my credits are posting later. I’m worried they might not post at all. Anyone else notice this recently?

Update: My May GGR posted but my April did not. Maybe I missed the spend requirement for April.

Check your previous statement. My $100 GGR credits for March and April both posted with a date of April 14th under my transactions with a May 14th statement date. Usually, only one GGR credit posts per statement, so I’m not sure why these credits posted this way. I almost thought I didn’t receive my April credit too until I checked my previous statement, it should be there.

GGR has been taking longer to post ever since they switched it to the Annual activation in 2024. It now posts in the following month after the new statement period has started.

IS it typical for this card to have low CL? Mine is about 25% of most other cards I have. I just got a 0% interest offer + asked for an increase but it came back + said my new total CL would be 2k less than I currently have? Just wondering how other people are faring? It’s challenging to use the deals they offer with such a low CL.

Yes, mine has a low CL compared to almost any other card I have.

Mine is on the lower side as well though they bumped it up about 20% automatically about 6 months in. Didn’t take advantage of the 0% on this card so the CL I do have is sufficient to make use of the deals.

I just went through a lull of several months. Got one this month, $100 statement credit for 1k online spend.

A little late to this answer, JTX but yes I did use my card. Had a $900 purchase (costco.com) waiting for the offer and then rounded out with a Walmart.com purchase.

Does this go by calendar month, or statement cycle?

TJ

Nothing goes by statement cycle as far as I know. There are offers for calendar month and there are offers from mid month to mid month.

You can buy Walmart (or Sams Club) gift cards on Pepper.

Stopped working a few months ago, but I think this is Walmarts fault (ie I don’t think it works for any cards in Walmart Pay). No more easy stacking of online/grocery on gift cards for us.

My local WM completely removed GC racks that used to be at the self checkouts. So that’s done I presume.
