[YMMV] $5-$15 For Loading A Check To Netspend

The Offer

  • Load a check of $100 or more to your Netspend account with the promotional code Bonus15 and receive a $15 bonus
  • You can also use Bonus10 and Bonus5 to receive a $10 and $5 bonus, people have had success in using all three and getting all three bonuses in the past.

bonus10

The Fine Print

  • Valid until October 30th, 2016

Our Verdict

The general rule is that if it accepts the promotional code, you’ll receive the bonus even if you didn’t receive the targeted e-mail. Usually if you’ve used a specific code in the past as well you won’t be eligible.

Hat tip to reader Jason.

Received “Get $100 in restaurant gift certificates” email from netSpend today. Seriously I don’t want to bother DOC for this kind of YMMV deal as it doesn’t look that attractive to most ppl. Unless in the future there are some straight cash bonus otherwise I don’t want to waste your time even reading the info I copy and paste here.

For those of us with a Brinks NetSpend, I received an e-mail yesterday stating they have a $10 promo code, “Brinks10”, for depositing a check of $100 or more. Code is valid until Dec 31st. I haven’t been able to try it yet, as Ingo hates me. Trying to get that resolved. It will be interesting to see if it works, as I have already used up my bonus10 code with the regular NS card a few months ago.

Doc, if you want a screenshot, email me.

Finally got Ingo to unlock my account. Unfortunately, “Brinks10” apparently will not work if you have used the “Bonus10” code in the past on the standard Netspend, even if I received the targeted e-mail.

Looks like they only pay on those targeted. See response below has anyone used Bonus10 with Ace successfully? Thanks.

Dear Cardholder, Thank you for contacting NetSpend Customer Care! I understand your inquiry regarding the $15.00 bonus.I have checked your account and records show that we do not have an existing promotion that offers $15.00 bonus. There is already also an existing promotion regarding mobile check load but it is only for $10.00 and for cards that were purchased at ACE.You can send a screenshot of the promotion offer you received for further assistance in determining the validity of the promotion offer that you are referring to. You can send it to [email protected] with attention to your reference number *************I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and for the delayed response.Thank you for choosing NetSpend. why would anyone here still have these accts? Ever deal with their CS? And if you don’t get the bonus, then what…waste time trying to call them? I speak English and Spanish, don’t know what language they speak. for a lousy 50.00 in interest yearly. You make more doing just 1 bank bonus. I cancelled 5 accts when they changed to 1k limit. And if you ever answer a challenge Q. wrong ,then you have to go through hell calling.

Because they are already set up with deposits in/out which cost nothing. So why not just leave them???? Plus it pisses them off!!!!

Exactly. If its already automated and requires zero additional work then IMO it’s worthwhile.

Thanks. How long did you have to wait for PROMO to show. Also, Western Union, and Ace Elite are also NetSpend. Has anyone had success loading to one brand name NetSpend and then to one or both of other accounts listed above. Thanks again.

I used the Bonus10 promo to deposit a self-written $100 check a few weeks ago. It went through fine with the extra 10 added.

I tried to do it again using the Bonus15 and Bonus5 promo, even on my other Netspend account, to no avail. Seems like a one-time thing.

Found it thanks so much. I’m sure there’s no charge to load a check correct? I have 2 NetSpend accounts. Do you think I should link to both on same day, appreciate your help.

First I was not successful downloading app on phone or iPad from your site, but I found it in App Store. The I could not see an option for doing a mobile deposit. How do I do the deposit with the promo code(s)? Thanks much.

The option is there, under adding funds, or similar, as a submenu. The promo code is entered after you take a picture of the check. Make sure to pick the 10 day hold option (free) instead of the instant (fee-based) transaction.

Can you upload money orders?

No explicit exclusion in T&C’s, except for a vague ‘we may or may not accept checks you have written to yourself’. Seems hit or miss based on experiences of the Ingo app itself: http://androidfeens.com/ingo-money (search “money order” on that page)

Real question is can you write yourself checks, and can you do this on multiple accounts?

From my experience yes you can write your own checks but promo codes never worked on muliple accounts for me.
